This one (Asham signed to NJ) I dont understand? Keep Simon who is still suspended and give away Asham to the Devils. I will never put down Simons role on the this team or other teams, but why even sign him for another year? So who will step up this year? Or do we sign another tough guy who cannot play (Todd Simpson). Look at it this way Janssen will no longer have to slug it out with Asham...they will be rolling together...against us! Lets hear some feedback on this one!

Everytime i get a jersey with a players name on it they get traded. i gotta just get a blank one, maybe we will have a good season.

Ok Asham was no 20 goal scorer.
The writing was on the wall when the Isles signed Tank and Simon. While I like his grit we need another scoring winger. |
Let's Go Rangers!!! ;)
not the Devils!! well now that they saved money on NOT SIGNING a great heart and soul, gritty, middle weight champion...the better f'ing SING MARKOV or SOME F'ING BODY. G D!
what a stupid move for the islanders to let him go. he wasnt a big tie scorer but he contributed to the team and was a good penalty killer. this makes things look so much better for the rangers.
GO NYR!!! |
The Devils are still favorites to win the division, and he is still in the Atlantic Division. The Devils have signed way more free agents than the Rangers have. LET'S GO DEVILS! |
I know many don't agree with me, but I believe this is a real loss. While Asham never really did live up to his potential, I think the guy is ready for a breakout.
no it doesn't, the rangers will still suck |

I just saw the Devils roster, and Aaron Asham is going to wear #22 next year. (He wore #45 last year with the Islanders) I wonder what line he will play on. Probably the 2nd or 3rd. Probably not the 4th.
WELL THEN JUST GET A BLANK JERSEY, OR GET A JERSEY FOR A PLAYER WHO IS SIGNED TO A MULTI-YEAR CONTRACT, BUT THEN AGAIN EVEN IF YOU ARE ON A CONTRACT YOU STILL COULD GET TRADED. ANYWAYS ASHAM WASN'T TRADED TO THE DEVILS. |
HE (ASHAM) SIGNED AS A FREE AGENT.

But their is enough DiP Jerseys out there already. |
well then get a rick dipietro jersey.
He's on a 14 year contract. (originally it was 15 years, but he played his first year of the contract, so he has 14 years left)

I am surprised. This is one of those that we will understand in a week. Ash was a great player for the Isles. This will free up salary for a bigger signing.
I know this team has changed, but let players leave who don't want to stay. Don't act like they have not done that to the Rangers or Devils (see Gomez). I must admit, I like Gomez as a Devil. Perfect team for him. |
ACTUALLY ASHAM WASN'T A "GREAT" PLAYER FOR THE ISLANDERS BUT YOU ARE RIGHT WITH THE REST OF IT.
Good for you Aaron, You are the most down to earth athlete that I know. I will see you at my sisters wedding. :)
You will?
