No scoring, and 6 pylons [definitely don't look like D men] right now; great combo?

This game would've ended 10-1 if not for Tomas Vokoun, and that says something b/c he actually let in a weak goal to Donovan. He also made about 10-15 great saves in this game.

It was a joke.

Our "captain" Olli Jokinen seems real calm over this...for a "leader" who's scored 1 POINT IN 5 ROAD GAMES, I'd expect a little more frustration, at least. Oh wait...my bad...Team Motto is, "we only get frustrated at the refs, that's why we're still a bunch of losers."

This is pathetic; that 3rd period performance was pathetic.

BUT HEY...don't worry...I wonder what Martin has planned for the kids these next 3 days...certainly not practice.

Maybe they can hold hands in hopes to "better their chemistry."

After all, they've already gone camping and go-karting? this year. That's great...Here's a message: You get paid to play hockey. It's your job! Have some fuccccking pride!!

I love this team soooo much, but c'mon...I mean, just fuccccking give an effort...I really thought this was the year we'd be in the playoffs, but the way we're playing...this reminds me of the Luongo years.

It's just the "Vokoun Show." If he makes amazing saves, we win...if he doesn't, we'll get embarrassed.

LETS START PLAYING HOCKEY FOR GOODNESS SAKE!

this last game seriously piss*d me off... I mean don't these guys have any pride? In my opinion the ottawa senators weren't that great at all. And with the squad that we have, if they could just pull themselves together and play with some sort of pride and urgency the cats could've easily raped that ottawa squad, the way they looked.

I'm really getting tired of Mezei, he looks so lazy and is costing penalties because of it.

WHY AREN'T OUR PLAYERS FINISHING THEIR CHECKS! OMG how frustrating!!!
Why is EVERY panther player playing so soft and so afraid being consistent with using the body!? I'm not asking for bonecrushing hits, just normal hockey!?! I see flashes of this occasionally in Nathan Horton, Bryan Allen, and Olli Jokinen. This should be every game!!! where is the toughness?! We do seriously need an enforcer on this team...

I'm so frustrated with this team, I believe in most of them, but damn when I see this it really gets to me and makes me not want to watch the next game!

Keep it up Thomas! Good Job

Oh but wait, just like after the Toronto game the other night, maybe there's a lot of Panthers fans who will blame this one on the refs, too. Folks, championship teams find a way to win. And right now, we're looking at a carbon copy of a Panthers team we've seen for the past six years. Did we make the playoffs in any of those years? Seriously, someone try to tell me what is different about these Panthers this year. They even give the same post-game quotes!!! Vokoun said that Ottawa really isn't that good?!?!?! Are you kidding me? Why would you say that? They talk tough AFTER the game, but they play like little girls DURING the game.

You idiot fans down here will never get it! You will never win with a total "no name" roster, no fan base and cheap ownership.

At least 2 star wingers were needed this year and once again Cohen and JM were cheap idiots. I have no problem with picking up McLean, Radek and Zednik. But the top 2 lines needed 2 top line wingers to help out on the left. Ville is very good as a 3rd liner (or 4th liner because of the Czech line). But Booth is not ready for the 2nd line and Olli and Zednik need a star on the left.

Maybe the Sens will take Mezei for McGratton. Either way Mezei needs to be on the bus. Lojek can be brought up until Monty is ready to go. Someone needs to light a fire under Stumpy, Ryno and JBo.

Once again Loss = Mezei on the ice. I know that he is not responsible for all of the goals (a -2 with Campbell and Zednik), but he is terrible.

The Flyers and their fans will be taking possession of the BAC on Wednesday night!!! 38,000 fans showed up to watch pro hockey in philly last night (Flyers/Phantoms games). It would take like 8 games down here for the Panthers to reach that attendance number. Even with the Flyers' injuries and suspensions, I suspect the game will be over for the kittens in the first period.

PS: Steve Goldslime is, without a doubt, the most bias and unobjective hockey announcer I have ever heard.

JM needs to get on the phone and get 2 wingers in here, and he needs to call Bob Hartley. A tough, but good, coach will help dramatically, and we can stop this hug and love fest that is doing absoultely nothing in the win column.

The dump and chase has NEVER been successful here, so WHY DO WE STILL DO IT? Because JM is a dinosaur. Look at the big change with the Sens once he left. Of course the addition of Heatley helped. Murray is not on the bench now, but they were very good last year and this year they are much better with a new coach. It's time to fire yourself and hire Hartley.

I feel your pain. I couldn't have said it any better! WE look NO different then we did all those years when Luongo stood on his head and the Panthers couldn't score a goal.

I might be able to watch it-- as a long time fan..if I saw these guys trying. But again where is their pride? They can't even play for the whole 60 minutes.

Someone said they are a bunch of no names-- now I wouldn't agree with that--but right now I would take a bunch of no names that play their hearts out then a lazy bunch of kids--enjoying living in the obscurity of South Florida.

It's a few games in and I am more frustrated then I have been in years. We did not get Vokoun so everyone can sit idly by and let him see the types of shots Luongo did without counter attacking!

We did not lose that many "key" players either on defense or offense to make this kind of differece.

Granted leadership in Roberts and Neiwendyke. Gartton and Gelinas-- but what is really that different?

I like Jokinen, respect him but you lead by example. Jokinen cannot score on the road-- neither can the panthers. They are a bad road team..where is their toughness?

We need a big change now to light a fire under these guys. Right now I would take anything. I am not look forward to another 70+ games like this. Unfortunatley it is not talent we lack but effort this team is LAZY!

Show tapes of the 96 team-- they played their hears out and it took them far. Dvorak who was part of that team still plays with that work ethic. Where are the rest of them?

It's going to be a LONG season!!!!

Are you kidding when you say they don't lack talent. Compared to what or who? Why don't they ever go proven big name free agents. Why are they 10 +/- million under the salary cap. Teams like Philly, New York, Detroit etc. can turn it around from one season to the next because they spend every bit as much as they can under the league rules. Again, it is cheap ownership, which also accounts for a guy like Steve Goldslime being their TV broadcast guy.

No -- I think you misunderstood. They are not the most talented and can use alot more talent they can also use a big name and can spend more money. But to say that there is no player dressed in that locker room without talent is absurd.

We can go on and on about the problems the Panthers have in management, the lack of signings in free agency and so on.

The main issue is if we have a team out on the ice that doesn't play-- you can only blame them. If they lose but do it trying it wouldn't be as bad. But to see no effort out there on the ice and to see complete breakdowns in play that should never happen is the issue.

And yes they lack takent the way you mean it. I meant it in another way-- and that is the way they are playing. They can be a lot better. I have seen them be better. They just don't seem to care this year despite team building efforts.

First off let me state the obvious by saying that last night's game was disappointing. Granted Ottawa was 7-1 coming into that game for a reason. But to pull within one goal of tying it up and to show some signs of life after your team-mate goes down, only to fall apart minutes later, there are no excuses for that. I couldn't believe what I was seeing in the last half of the third, Ottawa was buzzing like they had a 5 on 3 just before they scored their 4th goal, and it was 5 on 5. And while I hate pointing out specific players and not to blame it all on him but Mezei confused the heck out of me. To see him take a penalty then stare (along with a few other players) at Eaves (I think it was Eaves he hit into the boards) then to take the interference penalty which gave Ottawa a two goal lead. It was frustrating to watch as a fan and a player. Another thing that boggled me, JM gives the guys a day off to relax and have fun going go-kart racing and shooting pool. Ok, nothing wrong with a day to relax and bond with your team. But to do it after they gave away the game to the leafs?! They had a two goal lead that they let slip away only to give up the game winner in the final 30 seconds. If that is a basis for merit these days then sign me up! Not to say I would have had them up at 5am doing suicides, but I wold definately not have given those guys the whole day off after a game like that. Finally, Vokoun, played like he has the last three games, like a man on fire. He was the only reason they were as close as they were, and to still make 43 saves and to wind up with an L in your stat column is unfair to say the least. Someone needs to wake these guys up in front of him and soon or else he is gonna get burned out by the all-star break and we are going to have a repeat of last year when we are 9 games out of a playoff spot and we try to squeeze in at the last second only to fall short. It hasn't worked yet and it isnt going to any time soon.

Once again, the Panthers are too comfortable with losing. They don't have a culture of excellence. Even worse, the coach\GM rewards them for failue. Just like little league, they get to go out for ice cream even when they lose because "everyone is a winner". Disinterested, lethargic, lazy and passionless are just a few words that come to mind. It's one thing to suffer a hard fought loss, but this game was a joke. To see Booth go off in a stretcher and watch the rest of the team watch Ottawa put on a clinic was pitiful to see. Not one player seemed to stand up and have pride in this team or leave the rink with respect. It's gonna be another long season fellas.

I still don't believe that its time to panic yet. We probably have one of the toughest schedules this October, and Wednesday especially against a (now) 6-1 Philly. But even so, I know that this shouldn't be an excuse for their poor play this road trip. They definitely need to finish their checks and do much better on faceoffs. I just read on the Florida Panthers site that Martin may be looking to add a physical presence to the team, perhaps an enforcer maybe?

MEZEI COSTS US TWO GOALS LAST NITE!Another penalty and he stops playing and stands there leaving the right side of the goal open.At this point he should ONLY be played on the penalty kill because that is the only thing he can do.I realize Martin has no one else to play but I would call up Lojek-anything is better than this inept punchdrunk pylon. He and Sean Hill should run a camp this summer. The Panthers just dont have the talent to be any better than 9th.Welch out-Booth out and Olesz now hurt-these guys are the bad luck bears. No psychology is going to work if you dont have the horses needed to pull the cart.
