One night of hustle (although appropriately quoted above, totally outplayed, shot, hit) does NOT a season make. Good work by the Panthers.

Ownership can do some good work as well. That would be settling the Captain, the team, the fans..by doing some good. Something for this teams bright future. That would be to FIRE PIE FACE NOW!

For once the Panthers benefit from an iffy call and capitalize on it. What a way for Bouw to redeem himself for the stupid penalty that briere scored on.

It's amazing how banged up this team is, though. And now Olesz may be injured, too. This just can't keep happening.

HEY KID...the "GREAT Flyers" LOST Panthers style...to the Panthers backup goalie (Anderson who btw played an awesome game).

Anyways, back to the game...the hero cape should've gone to Steve Montador (no disrespect to Olli). Monty's keep-in was the play of the year.

We need more players with heart like Booth and Montador.(and consistently, not just 1 night wonders).

Can we go out and beat the Rangers tomorrow? There is such a thing as "momentum." Too bad these Panthers couldn't spell that word if they tried...or so it seems. We'll see if they can keep it up tomorrow against the Rangers.

Last night's game turned me on. Panthers ARE better than the Flyers.

The Flyers will overcome those infidels from Miami! Viva La Philadelphia. Viva la Danielle Briere. We have no knowledge of a defeat last night!

Need to take the game in hand and beat the Rangers tonight. 4 points down with 17 games to go is not a bad position to be in provided some sort of winning streak can be put together.

I would like to see them trade some of thier Euro trash (Mezei Dvorak etc.) for a couple battle-tested Canadian born veterans with playoff experience Tuesday. Not expecting anything major talent-wise (too many teams are still in the hunt)but I think a move like this would shake the team up a bit and help with chemistry and might address the softness issue they have right now. We need a few gamers who have won in playoffs to show everyone else how it's done.

Great win but probably too little too late...Martin must go and team soft must change...Im not renewing with another 6 points out and the cry of "look how close we are" sorry there are not enough panther bucks to buy me this time...

Let's face it, there is some luck in hockey, both good luck and bad luck. This time, the good luck was on the side of the Panthers. And I must say, it is about time. The Panthers deserved a win. Let's hope they can now move forward and get some more points and make a run at the playoffs. It will be tough without Zednick, but let's stay positive. Go Cats.

Three years of Mediocrity that is surely enough to fire a coach. Martin was hired to take us to the next level not to continue on the lever we are at, they could have hired Me to do that. Last night was his 100th win as a Panther coach, he has basically averaged 34 wins per season over his three years. Right now with around 16 games left you've already got 7 teams with a higher win total than that this year, in a league where more than half of the teams make the playoffs AND you play a TON of games against your own division (a mediocre one at that) that kind of record is unacceptable.

My biggest beef is that his #1 excuse for the teams poor play is that he doesn't have the depth to overcome the loss of man hours. Well, he's also been the GM for two years so that is DIRECTLY his fault, therefore he should be fired from that position as well.

As for the game last night...

1. Someone on here mentioned Montador as the possible next captain, I think I'm seeing that as well.

2. Is Olesz made of glass or does this kid just have the worst luck in the world.

3. Someone needs to tell whats-his-name to play Anderson more. He's given us more than a few decent games, and again for some reason they tend to not be able to score for him.

Did Ottawa have your same moronic theory of keeping Jacques the Joke? No, that team said enough is enough of 1st round playoff eliminations year after year and DUMPED HIM. Please see which Eastern Conf. team made it to the Stanley Cup Finals last year.....without Jacques the Joke as coach. Great win for Olli's head. Now he needs to take this and kick it in gear. Philly was on a 9 game losing streak, so not a great hockey win.

The Idiot needs to be fired as coach, and get working as GM to bring in 2 or 3 players NOW.

It's doubtful that we'll get a scorer for Olli, but anybody will be better than Ville.

Ville needs to play where he's best - 3rd line. He is not a playmaker like they think.

Salei, Mezei, Larman, Globke, and Brine could be packaged for 2 players.

How about Olli post game - "Finnish goalies have a big 5 hole."

Can't trade Dvorak, or Stumpel, because they are on IR.

We can trade Stewart (I forgot about him and the skate sharpener we can get for him).

Welch will be back soon and we have Magnus (10 D men in all with Ryno and Welch still on IR) so we could easily trade Mezei and Salei.

I think we all forget the $#@% that Jacques was dealt when he got here. Basically, he had...

1- No minor league players

2- One scoring Winger in Olli

3- 3 High draft picks in Weiss, Horton and Jaybo that were all misdeveloped as a result of #1 and multiple coaches/GMs

4 - An Excellent Goaltender, that was subsequently shipped out forcing him to scramble to replace him.

5 - The team had been through so many management/coaching changes that they had ZERO idea of what system to play on any given night.

This team was the epitome of dysfunctional and for the last two years, despite that and leading the league in man-games lost due to injury, we've been within a few points of a playoff spot.

Since he's been here, for the first time in as long as I've been a season seat holder (10 years), I have seen progress. Our kids and acquisitions are IMPROVING the team rather than making it worse.

We're no longer shipping out players for bags of pucks (thank Keenan for Luongo).

The team has, for the first time in YEARS had a system for them to learn that doesn't change from one year to the next.

If we were even slightly healthier this whole year it would be hard to deny that this team would have been able to make up the meager 6 points keeping us from a playoff spot and the division lead.
