1 I keep hearing that this team will be moving to vegas...what a shame!!! When the Isles won 4 cups they instilled a fan base for a lifetime if only ownerrship was as passionate as the fans!!! |

1 I havent heard that either. Indy or KC is more likely.. However, with regards to the rink argument.. you know they can just make the ice bigger right? |

1 Who the hell is Lessard? Looked him up and his stats stink. This year with Chicago in the AHL he has six (6) goals. Last year he had one (1) goal in 19 games with Atlanta. We have plenty of that "talent" already in Tambellini, Bailey, Okposo. Nielsen and Bergenheim. Our only chance is to win the draft lottery; but who knows who they will choose or if they will trade down to get a new Zamboni operator. |

1 As with all NHL contracts, if a player retires DUE TO INJURY, then the contract is paid by insurance and the yearly total does not apply to the cap. If a player retires on his own, then the team is no longer obligated to pay the salary (unless stipulated in the contract as a guarantee. Then the cap hit is only 60% and decreases to 40% and 20% each year until the contract expires or last longer than four years. Anyway, the Islanders need not worry about the salary cap "ceiling" (max amount of player salary) as they are much closer to the salary cap "floor" (minimum amount of player salary). The Lighthouse project that Mr. Wang wants was pushed through the County but it is now stalled at the Town of Hempstead. The only way this team stays here is if the Lighthouse project goes through. |
