Full story: www.torontosun.com

Is Mats Sundin going to be getting some Philadelphia freedom? Or is the Maple Leafs captain simply going to go down with the ship? While the Canucks and Flames have had scouts following the Leafs lately, ...

F@#k the Flyers! Toronto is entitled to a bad year. They really should just do what they can, have a few good draft picks, maybe some trades, and see what next year brings. Sundin belongs in Toronto!

Sundin deserves a chance to compete without a whole team strapped to his back, Deal him to a contender and accept nothing but picks.
And Dave, c'mon, "one bad year"?

OK, a few bad years. Ha. I was trying to be positive about the whole thing. It would be nice to see Sundin with a team that can carry thier own a bit...see what he can do...before he is all but washed up. I just can't imagine him in another sweater.

It's hard for me to imagine too, however, we all know it needs to be done. I'd like to see him in Detroit.

I don't know about that. Placing him in Detroit would be like moving him to the Rangers. Too many cooks in the kitchen in my opinion. I would lik eto see him on a good team, but a good team that isn't over loaded with names and talent. A team holding their own, but would benifit from him. The Ducks, Blue Jackets, or how about the Devils?

Oh man, I didn't even think of the Devils. That would be pretty scary.
Anaheim is probably set to go as is (I think Burkes using that "shop the Edmonton first round pick" line to stir things up)
The Jackets are almost there (but not quite this year)
Sundin in New Jersey could upset the whole Eastern conference (and scare the hell out of Ottawa)

I think that Detroit can offer the best package for him. They are a team that has an eye for talent, and are known to find a diamond in the rough. I think that Detroit, with Sundin would be even scarier then they already are imo. I'm concerned with who will give up what for him and how much. Detroit seems to always make something out of nothing.

I've heard of Anaheim, but I haven't heard of NJ putting an offer on him. There is no way that Sundin goes to Columbus because if he goes anywhere, it will be to an elite team.

The bidding war for sundin could get quite interesting as we near the trading deadline... Might be some real good offers coming the Leafs way for our leader. We should take the best offer, then hopefully sign him back in july! It might be a good idea to force the buying team to take a couple of our deadbeats in the trade..really open up some cap space then sign some good free agents next july too !

Agreed, guys like Bell could go. They could do what San Jose forced us to do in the Toskala trade. Who would you get rid of? I think the best guy would be bell or Blake imo.

Iknow bell and blake have not given us much or less than we expected, but I would give them both another year to let them show us something.. Tucker on the other hand has really disappointed me with his play.I think he would still bring a good return,so I would put him on the lets get rid of him list. Pohl and battaglia would be good throw ins. Also Antropov is playing his best hockey of his career and may bring back something good for the future.. He is erratic and You just cant depend on him it seems like ,so I would get rid of him now that he might be worth something..

Dunno weather I want Tucker gone or not. He's always been one of my favs but I think he's just having an off year because this is unusual for him. Hasen't done much of anything really. I've been thinking Antro. has been our second best player behind the usual Sundin and has really come alive the past two years. I haven't been too impressed with Ponikarovsky this year. Last year I thought he was going to become something but he seems to have taken a step back in terms of developement.

Hey I have always liked tucker and the way he plays, but this year he is just coasting when we really need him... I agree pony is disapointing too,but then who isnt besides sundin ? Antro is playing great for him,but he hasnt shaken his injury prone history,so I think we should sell while he is really worth something..

I think part of the reason why Antro has been better these past two years is because he has been a lot healthier the past two seasons. I heard on another board that Tucker is playing with an injury (not sure but I did read that some where), maybe that's why he sucks this year.

I have heard that tucker is playing hurt too... so why dont they take him out of the lineup and let him heal because he is totally useless to us playing like this !!!! Aki Berg would be better out there than this guy right now !

I don't know why they don't, he's more useful at 100% then at 75%.

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Pisces

This is another good day to be tactful, and if anything you'll be even more successful than you were yesterday. This is not to be sneezed at, so seize the opportunity to talk to people who can sometimes be very touchy or who need to be handled with kid gloves. If you meet someone who's older or more influential than you, you'll be a big hit with them.
