get some hockey ed wrote: <quoted text> DP is the reason the Islanders aren't on top of the conference? How about the team not scoring more than 2 goals for like a month, how about that? You think that has anything to do with it, maybe just a little? Moron!, get a clue and think about about what your going to say before you say it. This way you don't embarrass yourself when posting here. DP's play was the only thing keeping the Isles from totally bottoming out. How soon you forget, brainless wonder! Brainless...moron...cute. Anyway, now a re-buttle to your wonderful post. I'm not going to begin with how many games I go to, and how big of a fan I am, and all that garbage. But I will start off by saying you are absolutely right! DP is the reason we are where we are at this point. HOWEVER, it is also due to the lack of scoring and the golden child DP that we are where we are. For example, the recent Buffalo game. The first shot on goal for Buffalo was a goal. DP let up a terrible goal that game and then we had to struggle to get back into it. Everyone is quick to blame the lack of scoring and hell they should be mad about it because there is no excuse for it. What I'm highlighting here is the amount of time and money we have invested in DP should equal Brodeur like stats. We are paying him to keep the Isles afloat because we all knew we were going to have scoring issues. He is supposed to be standing on his head every night and putting up goose eggs period after period. Now look, I know that maybe a bit of an exaggeration but come on he's the franchise player, the leader, we should be expecting the most from him. I've always said I will not route for this kid until he wins a cup for us. Plus I've had something personal against him (he and I had an altercation outside the coliseum 3 yrs ago but that's beside the point). The first goal last night, yes, Campoli miss played the rush entirely and never took the passing lane away. The #1 rule is goalie plays shot, d plays pass and he missed his assignment. But the second goal…weak! I was there…I saw it. My seats I was in perfect view of his crease. He's gotta cover that puck.

Johnny Islander wrote: <quoted text> Uh..."BB" hasn't been playing because he has sucked in his last few games, same as Bergeron. Meyer was put in, and they cut shot on goal by half from the previous 3 games they played without him. Not saying Meyer is the only reason for that, but no BB or MAB in addition to Meyer playing has helped. The team as a whole plays better D when they aren't playing. Meyer has been playing a very simple game, and he has been gettnig shots through to the goal way more quickly and effectivly than our "power play specialists" Shots on goal in the last 6 games before last night. 41 vs BUF 36 vs PHX 40 vs PIT Meyer gets in the line up 17 vs BUF 26 vs PIT 16 Vs WSH Berard back in the line up: 32 vs Tor You think that's coincidence? I think It's time to take your "BB" poster off the wall, it's not 1996 anymore. I will give credit though he played better last night than he has in a while. Maybe being a scratch woke him up a little. Great Post Johnny, you're right on the money with that.

This Saturday should be rockin at the Coliseum for the Devils game- 40 % off all tickets for Town of Babylon residents PLUS a knit hat to the first 10,000 fans to cross the turnstiles. If that don't draw them in nothing will- Try keeping me away from the Coliseum on Saturday December 29th-
I heard Sparkey himself will be in the main lobby posing for pictures so bring your camera-
Any word on Howie Rose Night...I heard he's the next banner to hit the rafters at the Coliseum- The word is he may be hanging up the microphone to pursue a modeling career-

I was responding to "Lets Go Isles," who has a grudge against a professional athlete because of some supposed altercation, and expects that athlete - the goalie - of the lowest-scoring team in the league to single-handedly vault them to the top of the standings.

I would like to apologize for the behavior of some of the Toronto Maple fans that were in attendance on Wednesday night. First of all this was a bus trip from Ontario and many of the younger fans had been on the bus all day and had consumed several liters of beer. This does not excuse their behavior by any means. I certainly want the fans in Long Island to realize this is not the way most of us from Ontario and or Canada behave. These few idiots were an embarrassment to both the other members on this trip and to your great neighbors’ to the north. I realize there are people that behave like this at several sporting events, but people should be able to go and watch and cheer, for their teams without people making treats and throwing items at each other. The high light of the night was when they escorted some of these drunks out. But keep in mind it was not only the Toronto fans, some of the Islander fans were also removed and for good reason. Toronto Maple Leaf fans are some of the greatest fans that can be found anywhere, but not when they act like this. From a real Toronto Maple fan.

He has the puck a lot but the shots I noticed he takes seem to be at bad angles and hit the goalie right in the chest. I don't think he's the only one to blame for this mess but I don't think he's the solution eather.

Yes I think that there is more than one person on this team that is not pulling their weight.. we may need a shake up to turn things around..

Agreed, it'll prolly happen during the summer though. If we aren't in the playoffs, the coach and the GM go bye bye. I don't even think they looked this bad last year.

I don't think they should wait until summer if they are going to do it..... give the new guy some time to assess what he has and what has to be done.... takes time with the contracts and cap to put a plan in place...... will give the new guy time to get ready for the draft too...... so if they are going to do it...... do it now..
