isles win another in spite of dipietro. someone please get this guy a seeing eye dog. he's horrible, horrible, possibly the worst goalie ever. Is there a night that can go by that he dosen't let in a least one very weak goal?
quit listening to the morons in the media bragging about this clown they are bragging him up because they want the isle to lose. watch his play don't listen to the bullcrap.

I am beginning to think DP will never be in the elite group of league goaltenders...he is just not consistent enough for the long run. He is definitely better than average, no doubt...but, certainly not at a Luongo/Brodeur level and may never be.

Stop complaining about DP ... he's a great goalie. And it's not just the media saying it ... Brodeur has even said how much talent he has. Not to mention all of his teammates raving about him. Did you even watch the game? He held off a 5 on 3 for over a minute! And get over the Luongo thing, it's done.

I believe Brodeur said he WILL be a great goalie in a year or two, but he's not there yet.

Exactly and thank you Ricky Red Light...that is my point as well...DP is not there yet. Very good...yes. Elite...no.

Kudos to anyone who has not become bitter with an organization that has not won a playoff series since 1992-93 season. I for one will not get over that fact alone. And... drafting a goalie when you already had a young, up and coming goaltender just recently drafted a couple of seasons prior did not make sense at the time and is part of the problem plaguing this organization today. That's a fact...it was at the time and still is a setback to the organization. We won't even discuss the rest of that particular trade. I know hindsight is 20/20 but as the saying goes some things are obvious to some and oblivious to others...

Freddy Meyer,(who was waved how many times this year?) was playing on the PK. Name one goalie who could put up DP's numbers with our current defencive corps. Appreciate his puck handling skills while we are so thin on D.

His puck handling-skills are sometimes a benefit, but, in my opinion, leave him out of position far too often which leaves to soft goals. He's supposed to be a goalie first.

I'll appreciate his puck-handling skills when the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.

The only reason i think DP is getting shelled is because of the team in front of him, there have been quite a few games and goals where the other team was allowed to walk in and score. I'm not ragging on the D, its the entire team. Yes DP wanders a little too much, and he tends to overcommit to the play from time to time but if you have ever played the game you would know that if your not shure of your teamates you tend to overplay sometimes to compensate. This team will be OK, we need to give Snow some more time.
As for Nolan he is losing a lot of respect with his determination to help Simon, I understand the loyalty but the team should come first.

By the way where is THEMETALCHICKEN??? this is the first artical in a while without any frustrated Rags fans ( you know who you are )

so all goalies that play in the nhl don't suck???
if die petro is the future of the isles then the future is very bleak. personally i hope he gets hit by a bus (hope his seeing eye dog gets out of the way) to give the isles a fighting chance

Actually, I have played.

And yes if you can't count on our team it does affect your play.

It's interesting that you note that DP's play is affected by the team in front of him, yet you, and many other, forget to mention, perhaps even notice, that the team might be affected every time Ricky lets in a goal he should not have.

Has that possibility even crossed your mind? If you played the game than you would know what soft goals do to a team's morale and momentum.
