This is pathetic. Since every team has at least one player who makes the all star game, someone had to be sent. Its almost like having a basket of rotten apples and one is only half rotten, so we say that is the best of the worst.

Joe he is 3rd among dmen in scoring on a last place team. That is VERY impressive. He might of made it as a hab this season or on another team. He deserves to be there.

Joe, it is not a rule every team has to send 1 player. NHL likes it that way but numerous years there have been many teams without representatives. He made it on merit. Period. He lead defensemen in points through most of the first half and is currently -3 on a team that is collectively -49. Bitter much?

Actually, that is the rule now.

That being said, Streit did deserve it. He is having a great season.

I believe you are mistaken. The NHL does try to do it, but it is not an actual "rule".

Streit certainly did deserve to be there... he is one of the top 3 scoring defensemen in the NHL for the last two seasons.

And since you probably dont realize it, he was a +3 and led the Eastern Conference All-Stars in TOI through regulation, tallied two assists, three takeaways, two blocked shots, and a SOG. He idd a fine job and Im proud of him! Even the Habs fans were nice to MArk lol.

It was referenced as a rule on NHL.com ... so I'm going with them..

As far as the stats in the ASG... give me a break..that was a joke... it was like playing pond hockey with your buddies on a sunday morning.

Yeah if we can call him a defenseman. hes not the best defensive player but he certainly do great job in offense. You can almost put him anywhere (not as goalie lol) and be sure hes not doing mistakes. Habs fans dunt hate him or even think hes bad, we love him as a former Habs and he gave us a very great season last year. We miss him in power play :'(

(1) OnlyAsGoodAsYourLastCup: Rick DiPietro did great in the ASG last season, WTH planet are you on? How do you "an a zz" out of yourself in an ASG- by playing really bad and letting in piles of goals? Only 1 NY goalie has done that, no offense.

(2) Habs21, I think you need to look again. NHL.com also says he did get a SOG.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/boxscore.htm...

Look at his stats, they are there toward the bottom of the page. It isnt one of the highlighted SOGs but it was a SOG nontheless.

He is doing a very good job on defense. He isnt perfect but he certainly is good and . As far as offense goes he is better than good he is great! I am really happy with the way he was treated in Montreal, and he said in many interviews that people treated him like gold. You could see how happy he was about that, too.:)

Oops my bad i thought SOG mean shout out goal but its shot on goal. All player MUST at least have 1 shot on goal... But anyways for the rule thing, its a non written rule, all over the past years it was like that, they cant pick all players of 1 team and forget about others cuz they want the game to be watch from any cities. Ill repeat myaself, Streit dunt have a lot of talent, but he is 1 of the smartest player with or without the puck, he can make good play but he wont do side to side with the puck to fill the net.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Sagittarius

Moodiness is never far away today, making you over-react to problems and giving you a tendency to take out your feelings on your nearest and dearest. If someone asks you what's really wrong, you'll struggle to explain and may even have to give up because you can't put it into words. It's like an itch that you can't scratch, and you don't know where it stems from or what it means.
