Denied Goal!.. If it was a goal it would not have been denied.

Why is it that the stories Newsday reports are written half-assed.

The stories seem to be written by a 3 year old and the readers and people posting in this forum have a field day chewing them up.

I pass Newday on Wellwood Road in the morning, and I see the Small yellow school bus dropping off the reporters. I can pick out the editor being they are the one wearing the helmet.

If last nights travesty wasn't an indication that the NHL wants the Rangers to win regardless of fair play, then maybe they should merge the NHL with Nascar.

I watched this game and could not believe that the goal by the Sabres was disallowed.
Hell, even the announcers said it was a goal!

The NHL is a joke when it comes to its officiating and its been even worse this since video replay has come into existence. If the NHL is going to ignore what it can plainly see on video, then get rid of video replay all together. And while were at it, lets hire Tony Stewart as NHL commissioner.

LOL... What goes around comes back around. I thought I told you, yeah! The only thing that could have been better is if this happened in Buffalo so we could have watched the Sabers fans go ape-sh it after that call.

Hey D.P please stop calling me with pointers on how to play the puck behind the net. It almost cost us Game 4.

Right, and what about the "distinct kicking motion" in the previous game that caused the no goal? Pretty hard to kick when you have both skates turned sideways while stopping.

And all you can "plainly see" in the replay is the puck APPEAR to cross the line and then get covered by the pad. Did it go in? Probably. Can you tell for sure? No. Case closed.

Bottom line, Sabres or Rangers fan...the NHL video review system is broken. "Off the skate" was NOT a conclusive "kicking" motion, by any stretch of the imagination. That was just a stupid decision by stupid people in Toronto.
That, and the fact that the NHL doesn't require all networks covering playoff games to use high-def equipment is dumb. You see the puck as it is entering the goal, then you see nothing but ice between the goal line and the goalie pad. Obviously, you do not need even full deductive reasoning skills to figure out the puck is under the pad. But because MSG DOES NOT transmit in high def, you loose resolution and the puck "disappears" for a frame or two. TSN does use high def, and you actually see the puck as it crosses over.
I guess this series should be considered even on both counts, wins & bad video reviews. Hopefully the rest of the series doesn't require any more video reviews, because there is a better than even chance Toronto will get it wrong.

Let's see, until last night how many goal reviews went Buffalo's way in the last two series? ALL OF THEM. We definitely were fortunate that the replay was inconclusive because the puck probably did go over the line, but the Sabres have gotten every break up until now. We need a few more to go our way to even things up. Ruff has the nerve to complain too!

After seeing the review it was almost impossible to tell whether the puck completely crossed the line...Lundqvist made it, but barely. If it were the other way around, I'd say it was a goal. But the Sabres enjoyed 4 out of 5 goal reviews during the playoffs between the Isles and now the Rangers, and in my opinion, they didn't deserve to get this one called in their favor. The Rangers completely outplayed them and dominated the whole game except for the last half of the 3rd period. Now they have a chance to regain the lead at home.....but it's not gonna happen! LET'S GO RANGERS!!! WE BELIEVE!!!! Rangers in 6 =)

So you think Toronto is watching the replays on Versus? Wake up. They have more video feeds than the tv network has. Stupid statement.

Is there somewhere, maybe Home Depot perhaps, that we can get some kind of spray to get rid of all these Isles fans from the Rangers blogs?

They are like flies at your nice summer barbeque, gnats in your face when you are playing the outfield in your softball game.

No matter what was called, the NHL was going to be screwed either way. Keep in mind that the look from above is at an angle, otherwise you wouldnt be able to see the goal line.

Could have been called a goal... but it wasnt, so its time to move on. I was impressed by Lindy Ruff at the press conference. He didnt come down on the league or Toronto and he just said he thought it was a goal.

Its sad that such a great game is going to remembered for this call.

Versus does have a high-def channel, although Cablevision does not carry it. In any case, it is not the tv network's responsibility to provide the NHL with replays. The NHL has their own video feeds. That being said they still seem to make the wrong decisions again and again, but at least we finally had one go our way last night.

conspiracy theories ? Perhaps you are thinking of Isles fans. Not many have mentioned a conspiracy theory with regard to the Rangers/Buffalo series. Sure, people have complained about officiating, but its been done on both sides.

NOT YET!

I think we are still owed about 3 more calls to even it out.

And you know what, it WASN'T A GOAL!!

No white between the puck and the goal line.

NO GOAL.

Where is the sweep?

Rolling 4 lines continuosly is a BAD IDEA.

Play your best guys more, before it is too late.

We are only a 6th seed for god's sake.
