Relax, let them have fun...it's just a club, not the end of the world. They are just some really great guys who have facial hair...if you can't accept it, then don't read the article.

I know these boys add they are some of the nicest people you will ever meet, and they don't try to fit in with everyone else. They are happy the way they are.

Hey all you critics, I know these young men. They are all, smart, well-behaved, hard-working Christian young men with good grades. So they are having some fun. They choose to be different and form a new kind of club instead of drinking and smoking. Shame on them,

Looks like it should be called "The Wolfman Club." My old principal at Bexley would have ripped a student's beard out with his bare hands.

I would rather see every teenage boy with facila hair and be proud of it, rather than these punks walking around holding there pants up because they think its so cool to dress like a slob and have no respect for anyone because they are (gangsta;s) more power to these young men! Great story to run dispatch nice to see something light hearted. I grew my first goatee this year I am 42 and amazed by the compliments. Good Day.

I think some of these readers need to lighten up & relax. Don't take life so seriously! Stress is not good for you. This is a light article about teens having some good, clean fun. I met the 17 year old...he has a dry sense of humor and is obviously being sarcastic about being respected BECAUSE of the beard. And the 18 year old is obviously being sarcastic about having a beard since 6th grade. Laugh at the humor and lightheartedness of it all. Not all journalism needs to be serious news.

I think society would be better off having more nice young men like this....good kids who are given the freedom to express themselves in this harmless way of growing beards. There are too many other kids out there who have all the strict choices made for them...must wear a uniform, must be clean shaven, must not be sarcastic...but they rebel with their behavior. Outwardly looking "presentable" doesn't equate to purity in the heart.

To Lindsey--this was very well said. You are right on. I think the article was light and entertaining. Going through the teen years is not easy, so it's refreshing to see today's youth having harmless fun with their friends. There is no moral "right or wrong" about choosing to have facial hair!

Apparently there is NO dress code at this school. These punks have no respect for themselves or anyone else.

Thank you, Dispatch, for a light, enjoyable read. Obviously they were being sarcastic about lumberjacks being their "icons" too!

My public school didn't allow this sort of facial hair on students back in the '80's. How things have changed. I like well-kept facial hair on a man, but I don't know what I would've thought of boys in hs w/ it.

No, 21st century teachers don't dress in suits, ties, heels, etc. But we focus on learning and creativity. If kids want to express their individuality through a "beard club" that's fine.(Believe me, there are much worse things that we teachers deal with today!) The students in the article seem to have more class than some of those posting comments to it!

Respect is earned through actions and one's character...not by how much facial hair you can grow. Olentangy will let ANYONE start a club...what a waste of time...

Isn't there something more productive these studenta AND teachers could be doing??? A little more teaching in the Olentangy HS's would be nice...
