Hi Marcia,

I bought mine at Michaels before Mother's Day. I just couldn't wait. I love it already.
Well, Its a diecut machine like the Sizzix but electronic. It really easy to use. You just plugin 1 cord, pop in the cartridge which has like 95....Yes 95 Different letters, shapes, and phrases. Then those 95 letters, shapes, phrases can be cut in different sizes from 1 inch to 5'1/2 inches. I love large letters! Anyways, that's not all. Those same 95 LSP, can be changed into totally different items.
With George (the free cartrige that comes with) you can go from a regular Letter K to a K that's on a tag with ribbon slots. Or go from a cute flower cutout to a Silhouette of a Cute Flower. Your creativity will run wild. Plus, no more carrying all those heavy dies around to crops. I love it. Just remember to buy a second cutting mat.

Michaels is having free Demo's of the "CriCut" May 27th. Check it out yourself.

I got a cricut for my anniversary... I do love it, one great feature I haven't seen mentioned and was hard for me to find out when I shopping for them, is YES! you can type in your own words and phrases. I am curious about about the usb port on the back of it... does this mean we may be able to download fonts in the future? Also, I got the tool kit and I have no idea which tools are for what...hope I am using the them for the right job. Can anyone out there help me?

I purchased this machine about 2 weeks ago and it hasn't had a break since. I am a hopelessly addicted scrapbooker who used to spend hours cutting letters by hand which I had traced from templates. Now, what used to take hours literally takes less than minutes. I love to use the shadow feature to make letters and then the sillouhette feature letters over top. It creates a very unique and beautiful effect. The most time consuming part would be the actual gluing. Glue pens work beautifully for these types of projects. Already, I can see that the possibilities are endless. By the way, even if I never get another cartridge, I can't see that I would ever exhaust the uses for "George"(the cartridge that comes with the machine). Every project I have completed is very unique. This machine is definitely the future. I wouldn't waste another dime on templates or manual die machines. WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!!!

Hi there,

Was thinking of purchasing the Cricut but wanted to find out from "users" if I would be able to run through my zyron first so that I don't have to worry about adhesives when applying.

Thanks

Yes, you can run the Xyron first. But I didn't get clean cuts with the small fine shapes like the connected words at 2". It worked smoothly with all the shapes I've tried though.

Hi! I'm trying to get a definitive answer on whether or not I can create my own "connected" phrases/words for title pages using Cricut. I realize that many cartridges come with pre-made connected words, but haven't really seen anything about personalized connected words. Any users out there than can help answer this?

I think there's a new cartridge called Opposites attract that allows you to create connected words and phrases. I just got the cricut and can't wait to try it out!

Michael's wouldn't take the coupon on Cricut Products, but I think my husband bought it for me for Christmas. I'm so excited, but I have to wait until Christmas.
