Then explain this to me!! Who baptized all the jews and Anne Frank even twice!! Or are you two-faced?
Again after the Jews complained about Jews being baptised for the dead the LDS Church reitterated its members that names were only to be submitted ofr a persons own ancesters. Many people can infact trace their ancesters to many people. To show this point Joseph Smith is infact related to several U.S. Presidents includding the Rosevelts, Bushs, and Nixon just to name a few. With that each of these presedents have family members ini the LDS CHurch. When names are found that are not submitted by people with a geneology linking them those names are removed.

No the LDS Church is not very odd. It is no more odd than Catholics who think they are eating Jesus Flesh and Drinking his blood, or Pentacostals who run around speaking in toungs, or pick your religion and beliefe and I can show you were it can look odd.

The Catholic church is cutting of their nose to spite their face. The records are also used by more non Mormons than Mormons to trace their personal genealogy. The Mormon data base is the largest depository of names in the world. With this ruling it just means that the Catholic people will not be able to trace their ancestors nearly so easy. This ruling hurts the Catholic population more than it hurts the Mormons. If the Catholic Church doesn't believe in Baptism for the Dead what difference does it make to them if someone preforms an act that is not binding on them. If they think that in some way it makes them a Mormon then the Pope and all the rest of the Catholics should join the Mormon church and be baptised with someone holding the authority from Christ and admit that they don't have this authority. You can't have it both ways, if the Mormons don't have any authority then it doesn't matter anyway and if they are afried that the Mormon's do have the authority to baptize and make them Mormons then they should all join the Mormon Church. So why cut of your nose to spite your face.

They acted like the sealing process was so secret and then didn't they do a reenactment of them in those funky white dresses, head coverings, green
elf aprons and so on. And then some kind of white coverings that looked like they belonged in a doctor's office. I can't believe people go through that to get married.

Also, you can read about it in "Secret Ceremonies".. why so hush hush?

Oh, it's sacred???

I admit having the information available would most certain help. On the other hand I can see the Vatican's point. The LDS or Mormons disregarded the wishes of the Jewish community and preformed many baptism by proxy. I agree with the Jewish communities and any other who wish not to have such rituals preformed. Kudos to the Vatican for such a stance, yet we all suffer by the acts of such a cult.(ex-mormon myself and it is my belief it is a cult)

Some people still don't understand what the Savior taught and that he thought it so sacred that it was kept only for the initiated. The LDS Temple endowment has been found in ancient writings like the Nag Hammadi and others. It is the Esoteric Jewish Mysteries that Christ taught the 12 during the 40-day ministry and was so sacred that it was at first oral teachings. The Catholic has shadows of it in their own liturgy to this day but still aren't aware of it.

Bible verses that refer to the Mysteries:
“It is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given”(Matthew 13:11).
“Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand”(Matthew 13:14).
“Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.(Matthew 16:20)
“All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given”(Matthew 19:11).
“He taught them many things by parables,… as they were able to hear it”(Mark 4:2, 33).
“And he charged them that they should tell no man of him.”(Mark 8:30)
“And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them”(Luke 18:34).
“If I tell you, ye will not believe”(Luke 22:67).
“The light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not”(John 1:5).
“If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?”(John 3:12).
“This is an hard saying; who can hear it?”(John 6:60).
“Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word”(John 8:43).
“I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now”(John 16:12).
“The time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father”(John 16:25).
“As yet they knew not the scripture”(John 20:9).
Jesus appeared “not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen”(Acts 10:41).
“They ... were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia”(Acts 16:6).
“As they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind”(Romans 1:28).
“I ... could not speak unto you as unto spiritual,... I have fed you with milk, and not with meat”(1 Corinthians 3:1-2).
“Unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter”(2 Corinthians 12:4).
“By revelation he made known unto me the mystery; ... which in other ages was not made known”(Ephesians 3:3-5).
“The mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints”(Colossians 1:26).
“Many things ... hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing”(Hebrews 5:11).
“Many things ... I would not write with paper and ink; but I ... come unto you and speak face to face”(2 John 1:12).

I think the Vatican should demand that the LDS hand over all the names of post-mortem baptised Catholics. Then, they can RE-BAPTISE them Catholic, and hand the names back over. THEN the LDS can re-post-mortem-baptise them, THEN they can turn those names back over and the Catholics can re-re-post-mortem-baptise the deceased and THEN, during allt his quibbling, the Muslims can cut all our throats.

3 Cheers for the Catholic Church. Why should any religious organization be allowed access to public records to further there own dogma; especially when it could be considered a violation of an individual's/families' privacy?

Could identity theft be caused by this kind of mining of one's (relatives') personal data?

I found out that my name is on their geneological records, and I called up and complained and was told that there wasn't any way a living person could have there name; and any additional personal information, deleted from their records.
I found this to be rather strange!

Actually, I think a cult is defined as follows:

1) A charismatic leader
2) Who demands blind obedience
3) Requires one to hand over all personal/real property to the cult
4) Requires one to cut all ties with family and friends
5) Requires one to live on the cult's property
6) Sometimes requires one (or one's children) to have sex with the cult leader
7) Practices various forms of mind control and possibly brainwashing

This is my understanding of what defines a cult.

I wonder what the Community of Christ - RLDS; thinks about baptism for the dead? I understand that they are the 2nd largest religious group that claims to be the one and only true religion that follows the teachings of Joseph Smith.
The Utah Mormons are known as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The RLDS Church, headquarted in Missouri, is known as Community of Christ - Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (RLDS). As far as I know they do not believe in baptism for the dead and their temples are open to the general public.
Would someone please correct me if I'm wrong about the RLDS position on this matter?

Gotta have fruitcake with that coffee. After all, it's tradition.
No one likes it, but you still have to flipping make it.
My sister tried to fool people by making fruitcake cookies.
Nobody ate those either.

No matter how you package it, people still sense fruitcake and
reject it.
