Strange & Unusual - Genealogy Website Claims Barack Obama's Iri...

Interesting, the connection between Obama and Cheney. I can think of another connection between their families. Obama's ancestor Benjamin Singletary removed from MA to Maryland. His father was Richard Singletary who came to Salem MA and then removed to Newbury MA about 1636. Benjamin's brother Nathaniel had a daughter Susannah who married first Edmund Eastman and second Cpt Richard Bartlett. Capt Bartlett was grandson of Richard Bartlett and Hannah Emery. Hannah was grandaughter of John Emery who came to Newbury in 1635, having come from England on the James. Dick Cheney is a direct decendant of John Emery.
Richard Bartlett was son of Josiah Bartlet and Lydia Hale. Lydia was daughter of Ezekiel Hale and Ruth Emery...another direct decendant of John Emery of Newbury.
Richard Bartlett and susannah Singletary had Susanna Bartlett who married.....Cpt John Emery...another direct decendant of
John Emery.
John Emery and Susannah Bartlett were first and second cousins of Dr Governor Josiah Bartlett of New Hampshir the second signer of the Declaration of Independence. Josiah Bartlett was model for the Democratice President Josiah Bartlett of the tv show Westwing.

Actually, as a descendant of the Singeltary's of Haverhill, MA. I can tell you that Obama is not a descendant of Bejamin. He is alledgedly a descendant of Johnathan Dunham alias Singletary (questionable son of Richard). Furthermore, Benjamin did not move to Maryland, he moved to SC and Jonathan Dunham moved to New Jersey.

The Benjamin Singletary you are referring to is evidently son of jonathan who moved to NJ. That is supposedly Obama's line. Jonathan was a half-brother (?) of my ancestor Benjamin.

You should think twice before making these claims.
Saddam made it punishable by death to claim relationship to his family. Obama could turn a different hue if he gets into the WH and add a clause to the patriot act.

right there! To be related to Stalin was not a good "life choice" at all. Only his mum escaped having something nasty happen. Hitler was not at all keen on his relatives, either.

For heaven's sakes, don't rely on the genealogy posted by Mallory in Oct 2007. It is so garbled, mixed up, etc. Anytime someone posts lineage be very cautious.

Why does it matter? A lot of Americans are Irish, just like a lot of Americans are German. Who cares? We all know that he is mixed, and most white people have a mix of either Irish or German.

I don't claim any relation to Obama. Obama's lineage is questionable at the very least. Mine, on the other hand, is proven. Who are you to make any such comment, anyway? You probably don't even live in the US.

To the comment below - a DNA sampling was done 2002 on descedants, and Jonathan Singletary and siblings were shown to all be family of both Susanna Cooke and Richard Singletary.
