Pilot Dan Gryder arrested at Griffin Airport

I am a long ways away I say but anybody with any common sense says that there is something very wrong about this whole story. From everything I have read, Gryder appears to be a gifted aviator and teacher - his only problem is keeping vintage aviation alive in a town that doesnt want it. I'm betting doughnuts that very little of this story as spread is actually true - it can't be.

It is obvious none of you really know Gryder. He has been making enemies and burning bridges for years. He is a spoiled selfish brat with a strong sense of self-entitlement. This is not the first incident of this type for him. Look up the phone numbers of any FBO's in the surrounding area and they will all tell you the same thing: It couldn't have happened to a better man. If you are one of his paying customers, you will be treated like gold. If he owes you money, you will likely be screwed, and then sued.

Sounds like the insanity of the lunatics running the asylum finally got to him.

Not being a pilot it is hard to understand where this might be "people" out to get dan gryder. It seems that the man was in violation of the law. It seems that he was ticketed for such violations. 6 times. It seems that he misrepresented himself to Law Enforcement officials. It seems that he disrespected the officers authority. It seems that the dumbass attempted to flee in a DC-3 that did not have enough gas. It seems that he totaly disregarded the saftey of anyone else in the air by playing this game. It seems that he should go to jail. If this man is whom you say: Why not stop driving on the runway, Why lie about who you are? Why not take the Ticket, Why not respect the officers that I pay to protect me and enforce laws. This may be a good instructor, but this man is pretty arrogant for a flying bus driver.

I don't know this guy first hand, but I do know many people in the area. He is despised and reviled by everyone I know-especially around Griffin. I have known many of these people for many years, and have never heard do many negative comments about anyone else-nothing even close. It was not a surprise to see what happened-fits the things I have heard about him. What a tool!

I worked and flew with Dan from Hampton to that DC-3. What the police saw was the real Dan.

I am not surprised. He is always getting in trouble and hates authority. An extremely arrogant aviator that would be better in the ground for good.
