I don't understand why some of the people on this thread cut down Vietnam so much - it is a communist country but apparently you haven't been there in a long time to see the progress that has been made there's still alot of poor people so do something for them instead of whining

I wouldn't do anything for the vc...they have their power and money now but if you're Vietnamese you should try to help the poor people that are left there..that's all I'm saying. I go to VN with my Vietnamese wife every year..the country is really improving people are living a decent life..some are enjoying a really prosperous life but there are many poor people older people that need help and alot of poor kids too
somtimes the past has to be looked over but not forgotten

ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.

I don't read vietnamese..I'm from the USA/white american who goes to Vietnam with my Vietnamese wife every year..have for the last 11 years - I enjoy visiting her family in Saigon and have made many Vietnamese friends in Saigon Dalat Can Tho Vinh Long and Nha Trang..Most people there just live their lives and enjoy themselves without dwelling on corruption..the younger generation are getting their education to make Vietnam a better place and prosperous country and I admire them for that, in fact I'll be moving to Phu My Hung next year to live and teach English. I understand why some Vietkieu dislike the VN gov't but many get over it and go back to Vietnam open businesses and help the poor people there as much as they can..
