Man survives for months in snowed-in car

STOCKHOLM - A Swedish man was dug out alive after being snowed in to his car on a forest track for two months with no food, police and local media reported on Saturday.

The 45-year-old from southern Sweden was found on Friday, emaciated and too weak to utter more than a few words.

He was found not far from the city of Umea in the north of Sweden by snowmobilers who thought they had come across a car wreck until they dug their way to a window and saw movement inside.

The man, who was laying in the back seat in a sleeping bag, said he had been in the car since Dec. 19.

“Just incredible that he’s alive considering that he had no food, but also since it’s been really cold for some time after Christmas,” a rescue team member told regional daily Vasterbottens-Kuriren, which broke the news.

Ebbe Nyberg, duty officer at the Umea police, said police saw no reason to doubt that the man had been stuck in the car for a very long time.

“We would not make something like this up. The rescue services were on site too and saw the same as us,” he told Vasterbottens-Kuriren.

Umea University Hospital, where the man is recovering after being rescued by police and a rescue team, said in a statement he was doing well considering the circumstances.

Doctors at the hospital said humans would normally be able to survive for about four weeks without food. Besides eating snow, the man probably survived by going into a dormant-like state, physician Stefan Branth told Vasterbottens-Kuriren.

“A bit like a bear that hibernates. Humans can do that,” he said.“He probably had a body temperature of around 31 degrees (Celsius) which the body adjusted to. Due to the low temperature, not much energy was used up.”

Why the man ended up under the snow in the forest remains unknown, police said.

That is why they should ALWAYS be ready for that and fear that it can come ANYTIME.

They should NEVER postpone any good deed to next day and never continue in doing bad deeds thinking that they will repent tomorrow.

This is what I called fearing and be prepeared to face their God ay ANY TIME.

A. Jesus is not a Myth, you cannot compare Jesus with Santa. It were Christians who were stupid enough not to preserve historical artifacts belonging to Jesus. But since Quran confirmed that Jesus was a righteous prophet, he must exist.

B. There is every thing wrong with Homosexuality. It is a crime against human society. It threatens the very survival of human race.

It is crime against morality of society and it is one which is wrong medically.

C. How can I take your words that you are a rational person, seeing that you defend homosexuality. No reasonable person can do that.

If bronze age superstition is bad, the same then holds good for Plastic age Superstitions.

Rose, you'll get no where with MUQ a while back I wanted to discuss miracles, gave him several definitions that he asked clarifications on, then he would not give his definition of what a miracle was.

He is a radical Muslim, who believe women don't have equal rights to men, must dress totally covered, and generally don't have equal rights to men.

He also believes in beheading.

It is like reasoning with someone from the 7th century. Just because Jesus is mentioned in the Quran 600 years after his death, he believes he existed. He has no idea his religion was borrowed too.
