Under the banner of “compassionate conservatism,” President George W. Bush surprised and delighted AIDS activists by spending billions of dollars to fight AIDS in developing countries worldwide.
......
BTW, Obama has promised $35 million to AIDS prevention treatment and research. Bush promised $48 billion. Yea I'd say Bush did an excellent job, where as Obama has failed.
Your last sentence says it all. It tells your approval of bush, no matter what happened, and your disapproval of Obama, no matter what.

I don't approve of either.

You completely ignored the issue of the conditions bush put in place for receiving the so called "AIDS" help. The hospital or clinic had to provide anti-medical information to all potential patients before they could be seen. If it was even recommended that the patient might be better served somewhere else, that agency would lose all of its funding. It was more of a "Stop abortions at all costs" rather than helping with AIDS. And yes, the policy of starve the beast from the GOP was in place so they had no concerns about paying for the billions wasted.

If you really believe the 48 billion went to help fight AIDS, why no progress?

Maybe you are one of those that think AIDS is a "gay cancer". Are you really that homophobic?
I suppose you are required by your masters to post mud. Should I bet you don't get paid if you don't sling enough insults?

In regards to AIDS research, prevention and treatment you are absolutely positively correct.

What do you mean no progress? ROFLMAO!!! More progress has been made since PEPFAR than ever in the past 30 years. More people are on ARV drugs than ever before. Since Obama more people are going without ARV drugs. Learn the facts before you spread more of your homophobic bullshit and lies.

"We’re hoping very much that President Obama is going to follow through on what President Bush did,” U2 frontman and AIDS activist Bono said during an appearance Wednesday on “The Daily Show.”“It was amazing. You know, people like John Kerry worked for this and Hillary Clinton, and eventually President Clinton did some extraordinary stuff renegotiating the prices of … very expensive drugs down.====But George kind of knocked it out of the park.===="

Even Bono who has been very outspoken of Bush could not give enough praise for what he [Bush] has done to fight AIDS.

I know those damm pesky facts get in the way of opinions every time.

This disease is transmitted primarily in one of two ways. Unprotected sex and IV drug use. Do not engage in these and there is little or no chance of contracting the disease. CHANGE YOUR BEHAVIOR AND YOU WILL SAVE LIVES!! Or you can live it up and die. Expecting society to pay for your bad choices is asinine. Just saying.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Scorpio

You're in the mood to spend money on a favourite hobby or pastime today, so take care if you're supposed to making every penny count at the moment. The temptation to treat yourself to something that you'll undoubtedly enjoy will be too strong to resist, and the trouble is that you might not restrict yourself to just one item either. It looks like being an extravagant day!
