A bit confusing considering that Barrett has always had major influence at the paper

This about as surprising as...., look, the sun is coming up this morning.

After this election is over, I'm going to release some public records that show a series of articles published in The Eagle, written by the now, editor of the Transcript, were totally false. Yep, fiction, and Mr. Barrett was part of the charade. In fact, one of the characters admitted this fact in these documents.

I would like to know how much money the state has given this city by way of welfare, food stamps, fuel assistance, etc, for th past 26 years and see how much of it could have been spent to get these people jobs or some kind of training to give them a better life,or a better chance at one,so they would'nt have to depend on the state or anyone else to survive. Cause it seems like around here 'Poverty' is Big Business'. What do they say,"Teach a man to fish..."

It wont surprise me.I have seen some serious bias regarding issues related to where I live, where they allowed others to lie to protect management wh wer breaking laws and then presented their side of the story without getting the real story.

Did Kevin Moran actually write this trite crap?

*********
However, it is Mr. Barrett's chin-first, aggressive manner that has enabled this city tucked away in the Berkshire hills to survive and thrive.

Barretta ruined the city, kicked out all businesses and destroyed a lot of decent people. Has a long list of personal enemies and attack them using his governmental position and his henchmen. Never work a day in his life in free economy. Always on the government payroll on the back of taxpayers. Hates all businesses. If you want such ruler for two more years go ahead! The city got what it deserves! But always use a rule of thumb - if Beagle is "for" something - it must be really very bad!

To the Editor:

You say, "However, it is Mr. Barrett's chin-first, aggressive manner that has enabled this city tucked away in the Berkshire hills to survive and thrive."

Yes, North Adams is surviving ........ but THRIVING?

I challenge you to explain to your readers just how North Adams is THRIVING. I don't believe you can.

Who are you kidding?

If the Eagle had endorsed Alcombright, YOU would be all over its case right now.(Don't deny it.) So, then why are you coming across as being so much "holier than thou"?

You have to be kidding, right? With all the vacant storefronts, needless destruction of historic properties, and the total failure to harness new businesses and investment after having had a world class-museum in town for 10 years, this is what you call "thriving"? Have you actually ever been here? What "spin-off businesses" are you talking about? These are few and far between, and only one of the businesses renting space on the MoCA campus actually depends on MoCA traffic. There has been no effort whatsoever on the part of City Hall to corral this tremendous influx of visitors to our local businesses. In fact, Mayor Barrett has adamantly claimed that encouraging local businesses is not City Hall's affair--he has repeatedly stated that economic development is not the purview of the Mayor's office, which is fascinating, since every other locality in the world seems to disagree with him. This endorsement is truly a shock, and truly a shame. Certainly, you've never worked with anybody who's tried to open a business here, that's for sure. So much for the Eagle being in touch with North County, I guess.

John Barrett represents the way Liberal Democrats think.
Elections have consequences, and if North Adams voters keep returning a hack like this to office, don't they deserve that for which they vote?
Maybe it's the victim mentality so prevalent in North Berkshire.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Virgo

If something is weighing on your mind it will start to affect your health, Virgo. It might make you feel tired or depressed, or it could dominate your thoughts. You know what you should do about it, of course, but it seems like too much effort or you want to pretend that it doesn't exist. Unfortunately, this escapist attitude won't make the problem go away and might even make it more tricky by the time you finally decide to tackle it.
