Friend wrote: Do not listen to Pharmacist! You can spread common warts of the hand to the vagina. It can and does happen. I know because it happened to my girlfriend. Talk to gynecologists who will confirm this. While there are indeed many strains of HPV, the strains that cause common warts (such as those on the hand) can occassionally be transmitted to the genitals. GET YOUR WARTS TREATED/REMOVED and wait for the area to heal before you put your fingers on anyone's genitals. And you still may want to use some sort of latex barrier on your fingers as was previously suggested (even after you have your fingers treated). "It happened to my girlfriend." That's what she told you so you wouldn't find out she was sleeping around.

This is what planned parenthood has to say about the subject: http://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-topic... |utmccn=(organic)|utmcmd=organ ic|utmctr=planned%20parenthood &__utmv=-&__utmk=12948 6604 So in rare, very rare, instances yes, but they are easily treated, and most likely won't come back! But the 99% of the time answer is no. So kind of like the effectiveness of condoms, most of the time no, very rare exceptions yes.

shamon115 wrote: <quoted text> Dude, pharmacist was right. Talk to your doctor. The wart virus that affects the hands does NOT, I repeat DOES NOT affect your genitals. If your girlfriend has a wart on her genitals, then it was from sex or just skin to skin contact with someone who has genital warts. I think confusion is over herpes and other types like flat warts which are all over the body and can affect the genital area, as can HPV virus. I would not take a chance anyway if I were a woman.

Absolutely they can spread that way, u have to get them treated or removed, and remeber you will always have the virus so consistent treatment is key in not spreading the virus! http://www.warts-treatment.net

hey everyone i was just being curious when i stumbled upon all this. im a 16 year old girl - i know what your thinking 'what does she know' but i know a lot of stuff about things like this, im constantly paranoid and im always seeing my doctor and asking questions. I just watched embarrassing bodies, these doctors are real professionals and no litterally everything! if your curious type it in on google. DO NOT research things on the internet and look at random websites, a lot of them dont know the facts and will tell you lies and get you paranoid, believe me ive been there. embarrassing bodies says that it is very unikely for you to transfer a wart from your finger to your genital area. Do not worry if you have passed a wart from your hand to your genital area! it is not the same virus! warts on your hand are caused by a normal virus whereas genital warts are an STI caused by a different virus. if you have caught warts down there off your hand then you have NOT got an STI. it is most likely a normal wart that can be treated. see your doctor and get them checked to see what type of wart they are, dont be embarrassed, theyve seen it all before! im sexually active with my boyfriend of two years and ive been tested for all stis by my doctor. it was slightly embarrassing at first but they are reassurring and you will eventually be relaxed. its better getting it sorted than not knowing and it feels like a huge weight off your shoulders! if you have genital warts (the STI virus), you can get treatment from your doctor and don't have sex with anyone untill you are fully cured (you dont want o pass your worries and an STI on to someone else) hope i have helped! for more information visit the embarrassing bodies website or NHS

Annie wrote: when i was a kid, i had warts in my hands, then i went to a clinic and put warts removal, then few days all gone.. then when i was in college, i noticed, warts on my feet they are tiny ang many, they were itchy, then in my arm, ang my leg about 2-3 warts. I am having a problem in my vagina, I have light yellow discharges and its itchy, while searching in the internet what could this be, some say it maybe HPV, I am a nurse, but not all nurses have the mastery about all illnesses or condition so i am still confused, I only had sex with 2 guys, my first bf for almost 2 years and my second bf now for 5 years .. i was checking my vagina, its itchy on the outside part i used flashlight and see the outer part of the vagina i see there is tiny flesh bumps, idont know.. oh God help.. I believe my 2 bfs dont have warts.. so how could anyone infect me with this,or I maybe infect them.. could my warts spread to my vagina? I plan to have it checkedby OB this feb.I hope i get answers soon.. I am worried I dont want to have warts in my vagina, this is an embarassment..=( hey there, i think i may know what you are talking about. women have small fleshy tiny lumps around the vulva on the vagina. this is normal i think because i have them, my friends say they have them and my doctor looked at my vagina and said everything looks ok, it could be thrush? a yeast infection which causes itching and discharge and it can easily be treaed with a tablet or creams or it could be something else, best to get checked to be on the sae side

The safer thing to do is to assume that common/had warts can be passed to the genitals so just be careful and get your warts treated please. No need for the back and forth.
