Frankly, I don't give a rat's patootie what she does or doesn't do. I'm so sick of hearing about her and her religious shenanigans that I could scream! If there ever was a non-story, this is it.

I don't think we know enough about her medical condition to really say whether she should be forced to take the chemo. If her doctors say she is disease free, then she shouldn't have to take chemo. But if her chances of the cancer coming back are high, then she should probably do it. BUT, without knowing ALL of the information that, frankly is none of our business, I don't know that we can make the determination.

She's 18, her parents don't have custody, and The judge decided that her life wasn't in immediate danger.

She doesn't the chemo, don't make her take, but let suffer the effects if she doesn't follow expert medical advice.

That is just it ... we shouldn't have any right to make that decision. This is a personal matter and should not be made a public. What happened to the privacy act.
She will be of age real soon and she would be the one to make that decision.

As for the first post, I agree. This is a story that I believe has taken up to much news time and way to much cost in the courts. There are probably a lot of stories similar to hers that are not on the news so why is this so news worthy?

Geeze, it's her body. She should be able to treat it, or not, as she wishes.

Just a few thoughts that lead to questions -

How does the Disgrace qualify this as headline caliber news let alone a "hot issue"...

what is Merediths obsession with Rifqa, burkas, etc......

does Meredith know where someone has a body hidden to keep getting this crap headlined?

why oh why won't Meredith go lay down and take a nap?

Everybody to their own but I have said all along there is something up the sleeve of this family, I work with thousands of Muslim people over the past 11 years they will put a smilely nice face to your face but in private it's another story and I feel badly for this girl to have this awful disease I seen my parent dye from this and its just awful no one such have to suffer this but as we have read she has made her decision end of story she must suffer the consequences if any to much attention has been given to this no body, her drama, her family .I deeply feel this reporter on this story is trying very hard to climb a ladder for a better position> at the dispatch. Believe me we the people want real news that concerns us , society, our country, our community not about hypercritical muslims.

Why are the whole lot of them not being deported for having expired visas?

That is the actual story here. Not some bratty teenager running away from home and making up a story because her cell phone was taken away.

Stop wasting everyones' time and money on this and send them packing.

The course of treatment will continue beyond her 18th birthday: she will be an "adult" and should have the right to decide her own treatment.

As an adult, she should also suffer adult consequences of her decisions. It has recently been reported that her immigration status is invalid, and as an illegal she should be deported to Sri Lanka upon her 18th birthda. Then and there, she can deal with the consequences of her unfortunate split from her family, and her neglect of medical treatment in America. It was reported that she would be eligible for Medicaid: U.S. taxpayers should not have to pay for her treatment as an adult, when the services were available through the parents that she rejected.

Fellow viewers, this has been a truly amazing game.
The score stands now at:
Lawyers: 378
Politicians: 62
Christians: 14
Muslims:5
Doctors: 3
Tax Payers: 0

By all rights, this game should be over, yet, the Lawyers keep finding ways to send it into overtime.

I can't believe no one has offered this girl a reality tv show yet. I am so sick of hearing about her - yet I still read the darn article not realizing at first it was about her.

Sweetie: You've been very brave throughout this entire ordeal. You've demonstrated maturity beyond your years. Remember, God has given us knowledge and logic as well as faith - faith that you've demonstrated like a giant. Listen to your doctors, otherwise, you're hurting yourself and your witness. You don't want this chapter of your life to end with people thinking what they do in this post. I'll continue to pray for you.

It is shameful the way self-proclaimed "christians" have used this poor confused child for political purposes.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Sagittarius

You're feeling ultra optimistic today, which is great for summoning up the necessary energy to do what has to be done. But don't let it go to your head and convince you that you're capable of performing miracles. If you aren't behaving in this way you'll have to cope with someone who has a swollen head and thinks they're the cat's whiskers.
