Get well soon Senator. Political differences should remain separate from a person's illiness. I guess that's how a compassionate Republican behaves by posting some of these crazy remarks.

Get well soon, Mr. Kennedy! Our Senate needs you desperately.

Have you read the responses to this article? Of course he thinks you're stupid, and mean and hateful and unforgiving. |

I'm saying a special Hail Mary for all those who now mock the ailing Great Senator. This great man of God and the People reminds me a lot of Job - He's serving a public that openly mocks and ridicules his great legacy to his State, his Family, and his Nation. When it comes to take stock of which Kennedy did the most to save this Nation, it will be Teddy who comes out on top. Granted Jack and Bobby died too young, and Joe and Rose did a wonderful job in raising them all, but Teddy is the one in the trenches, who made Joe's vision come alive. If only Teddy could have pulled off the 1980 nomination, he would have defeated Ronald Reagan easily.

Having survived a hymorraghic stroke 12 years ago and atudied the subject extensiverly since then, I can tell from the reported information, that the chances are that Ted Kennedy had a stroke and will not be heard from for quie a while, if at all.

I'm at least glad that among Republicans, at least President Bush has class enough to wish the ailing Senator well. The venom spewed out in this thread completely amazes me. Like someone earlier said, this Senator is one of the longest-serving Senators - he deserves a measure of respect and good wishes, especially when he's ill. I, a Democrat, certainly did not do this kind of thing when Nixon, Ford, or Reagan passed away. Get some class, people!

Would like to make the doctors aware of a cause that would never be known by them. This may not be the cause, but if no reason can be found for the seizure, consider this. Crohns disease is capable of causing ANY type of damage to the body, usually striking a weak part. And why crohns? The cause of crohns substantiates my accurate or inaccurate guess. I have seen what I will relate as the cause of crohns many times over the years. Not a doctor or medical person, but this is not a medical cause. It is an environmental cause that can be observed by astutely seeing or experiencing the illness. STIMULANTS, the wonderful drugs, anti-depressants being the most common at present, are the culprit. Difficult to understand how a drug can be so effective and yet so destructive to innocent people. A question that cannot be answered, but true regardless of its strangeness and weirdness.
When one person is on a stimulant, Xanax, Buspar, marijuana, cocaine, ALL ANTI-DEPRESSANTS, etc. that person unknowingly can transmit harm to a friend or relative, someone knowm to him/her by a MIND/BODY CONNECTION in the form of crohns disease or Ulcerative Colitis, Crohns disease can strike any part of the body. And to make it more strange and almost unbelievable, is the fact that the two (or more) persons do not have to be in the same room for the crohnie to be affected, they can be miles and miles apart, still the damage continues. Only the stimulant and mind are necessary and at work. Our country and the UK among others have become a killing field for many ordinary people that do not use stimulants. anti-depressants are a golden calf the pharms would never let go of. Every psychiatrist and physician has a license to kill, innocently or not. Nursing homes are the worst examples. The psychiatrist gives anti-depressants to some patients jeoparding those not on anti-depressants to a life of symptoms that hamper their ability to function salfely. And the resident physicians cannot even recognize crohns symptoms as such, whereas in private practice, they are easily diagnosed (sometimes). Never have we had such a weird illness that what one person ingests can harm another, not necessarily on a stimulant. I urge you to at least consider this if not organic cause is found for Mr. Kennedy's seizure. Talk therapy is safe and was the normal selection before the anti-depressants. Hard drugs of course, have always been with us, and have the same side effect. I can give a convincing example, but I am not free to do so, unfortunately. Until the world realizes, the usual is not always the usual, thousands will be innocently harmed and unable to live a normal life. This is an illness that will compound as if one person is depressed and takes an anti-depressant, another and another will be affected, until socialization and other forms of contact will be hazardous to most. Some people are not as vulnerable, but still suffer damage sometimes they do not attribute to this devious cause. |

Please make Dr. Larry Ronan and colleagues aware of my post. If I am in error as to the cause of Mr. Kennedy's condition, the post is still of use for many other situations.

I am grateful to Ted Kennedy and his family. Today, the backwoods mentality of "locking-up" mentally disabled and / or physically handicapped people is as old school thinking as Flappers and Top Hats of the 1920's.
Thanks to the forward-thinking people like the Kennedy's, my severely disabled daughter lives in a U.C.P. group home and has had great successes there. She has at shot at a fulfilling and meaningful life for herself. Group homes, rather than mental institutions, are the norm nowadays for the mentally disabled and physically challenged. Special Olympics would NEVER, EVER have gotten off the ground without the dedication and resources of the Kennedy's and the Shrivers. Thank God for old school class and generosity, where the rich did, indeed, help the otherwise unfortunate. As to the hate-speakers? Let he who is Without Sin cast the first stone of (doubtful) self-righteousness... Some will bring up Ted's past misdeeds.... again, let the first person pure of heart and noble casue cast the first stone.... Fight this fight Ted, fight this with everything you've got... and when the time is right, you'll know... and you will be remembered. |

I'm really sad," former Sen. Bob Kerrey, D-Neb., said when told in a Senate hallway about Kennedy's condition. "He's the one politician who brings tears to my eyes when he speaks."
Pleeeeeeeeease |

It's always sad to hear of serious illness of people but especially so when it's someone who has contributed a lot to society's wellbeing.
I just don't understand why people like to constantly bring up the fact of a curse when something happens within the Kennedy family. It's true that they appear to have a lot of tragedy but it's a large family who is very daring and adventurous. It's also true that because of their commitment to politics there are always nutty people who'd like to defeat their accomplishment. I suggest we pray more for the Kennedy Family and others like the Edwards Family and not be so quick to condemn. God bless you all. |
