Sadly, marijuana use only perpetuates lethargy, government dependancy and liberal thinking.

Has the medical board considered adding Lupus to that list of diseases. Lupus is a chronic and somtimes fatal disease that has chronic pain and inflamation of soft tissues throughout the body. It is also accompanied with nausea and vomitig. Marijuana can help to aleviate many of these symptoms.

Here we go again. I respect your right to express your opinion. It no-doubt must be tough on you to see the sensible and legitimate use of cannabis for medical purposes. After all, you probably spent a career busting people for "killer weed."

May I suggest that you attend the next board advisory meeting? You will see that all of the board members are respected Medical Doctors. They base their recommendations on published studies and reports on the efficacy of cannabis for various medical conditions. Some conditions receive the board's recommendation, while others do not.

Would you object to someone using Oxycontin, or any other narcotic drug, for pain control? I suspect not. So, why are you so against the use of something which is less harmful, less addictive and in some cases, just as effective?

This is a smart move. Not only is marijuana effective for treating pain, you can grow it yourself for next to nothing, and it's not physically addicting. If the state does this properly, it will help stop people from becoming addicted to prescription pain killers, and generate tax dollars. I'm glad this is moving forward.

Let's see what a doctor does have to say on the subject. Hmm, who to ask, I don't know, maybe Dr. Lester Grinspoon, Associate Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

MJ is significantly less dangerous than the Opioids that are currently being precribed.

Jerome, PTSD was added to the list in February. VA doctors will not prescribe medical marijuana but you can visit a private physician for an eveluation for a prescription.

I've had cancer twice. It would have been wonderful if Med Marijuana had been available to me at the time to help me deal with the severe nausea and pain. It also enhances your ability to eat more calories which is so vital to recovery.

Anyone suffering from these medical conditions should be helped by anything that works and Med marijuana works...let them have it. It grows from the ground and easy to dispense.

Neither Morphine or Oxycontin was effective for me.

I do agree they should allow people with PTSD to use marijuana. I have seen people come back from Iraq that have ptsd. Some have got out and do smoke weed and have said it helps them more then counseling and other meds given to them.

Actually, marijuana is illegal because local and state governments wanted to make life hard for the cheap labor coming out of Mexico. It was banned on the federal level because a member of the House of Representatives out and out lied on the floor of the house during debate and said that the American Medical Association supported the bill banning the plant. There was never any indication at the time of the government bannings that the plant was bad for you. It was just out and out racism against minorities that did it in.

It's dependency, with three 'e's. Must be good for spelling, too.

I'm all for legalizing marijuana for medical reasons. I don't suffer from chronic pain, but those who do should be able to get a prescription.

Yes, cannabis should be legal for even recreational use, but if it can not then at least medical use for any patient with any condition seen fit. It is ridiculous what people have to pay for perscriptions and if you grow it yourself you know whats use on it. Anyone who disagrees with legalizing it all around is completely wrong in every way, but if you disagree with it's medical use you are out of your mind. Especially if you have ever used any type of medication since all medications are more dangerous than cannabis.

Sadly Mr. Ret-Cop, it's brainwashed people like yourself that put down the use of cannibis who need help. There are many positives to its' use, you simply are unable to open your eyes to it because of your history of working for the government and being told wrong.

I'm glad you are retired, there's no need for people like you on the streets to supposedly "serve" the public.
