If i were a restaurant or bar owner i would simply rename my business where it included the words "private member smokers club" in the title.
Every person who came into my establishment i would have them sign for a membership card and charge them a $1.00 lifetime membership fee.

All public places should be non-smoking! In this economy who in the hell can afford smokes and the ability to dine out.
Get with the 21st Century. The Government lied for years about cigarettes being "safe". Watching people die from COPD & lung cancer is not pleasant to witness, plus it drives up the cost of healthcare for all.
Get over it. We all know you will never own a bar or restaurant.

If they have separate smoking and non-smoking sections and separate ventilation systems for each that should be adequate.

I will agree that smoking is dangerous to ones health and i will also agree that there is a thing called second hand smoke but i dont think second hand smoke is as dangerous as certain people would like to make it out to be.

I for one think the main problem with tobacco smoke is not the smoke from the burning tobacco but the smoke coming off the remaining pesticides and herbicides that was sprayed on the tobacco in the field. Then there are the preservatives and chemicals the tobacco company adds in house to cause the human body to absorb nicotine at a elevated rate. I believe the smoke from these chemicals are dangerous also.

I believe a person could grow their own tobacco and smoke it and it would never hurt them to the extent the store bought cigarettes would.

I dont smoke but if i wanted to smoke i believe i should be able to do so without someone over reacting about it. For example consider the anti-smoking policies that are present at places like Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. If you are any where near the doors to the emergency room exit and you have a lit cigarette a security guard will come running out the door like you have a stick of dynamite in your hand. Only a simpleton would think that tiny amount of second hand smoke would be enough to actually hurt someone.

i believe that there should be a vote on the smoking ban. one should not be told how to run the business that they own and pay taxes on. the business should be run how the owner sees fit, and if you do not like the smoking or how the business is run, then do not go there

confederate1978......i agree with you but they are going to do whatever theycan to pass this ban. i think that if there was a vote, so many people are outraged that we are being told how to live our lives that the ban would not pass. then what can they do?

smoking is gross! besides even if they seprated smoking and non smoking areas in restruants or other public areas, the smoke still is around other ppl, because it goes through the air everywhere. this is what causes poor non smokers and little kids to get cancer. i think cigs or any other smoking should of never ever been invented, it just causes health issues for everyone and causes problems like ppl to argue if they can smoke or not smoke somewhere...

This has been tried and failed. The antis have unlimited funding to fight it with highly paid dictators. Even Veterans service clubs have been attacked yet, there are organizations known for sending cigars and cigarettes overseas who fight for your freedoms and choices. When you lose your freedoms and choices make no mistake about it, you have been attacked, and should be prepared for further types attacks now that doors have been left wide open.

It's my choice I smoke if I wanna. So put that in your pipe and smoke it. I think it should be the business owners choice. To much government controlling crap already. Next they gonna say no public bathrooms

That should hurt a lot of non smoking bars and restuarants if they ban filthy public bathrooms, could end up pay on the load you leave, and fees on baby diapers to protect the children.

March 11, 2005 - Columbus, Ohio - Cigarette Enforcement Sweep Finds Cincinnati-area Spotless - Tax Enforcement Agents find only 3 minor infractions
COLUMBUS, Mar. 11 Recent inspections by Ohio Department of Taxation (ODT) Enforcement agents of 75 cigarette and other tobacco products retail outlets in the Cincinnati area found that retailers are generally following Ohio law by only offering cigarettes for sale that display the proper Ohio cigarette tax stamp.
