Ridiculous. Smoking is expensive, digusting, and makes you feel terrible. Ever since I quit, I feel a million times better. Thousands of dollars a year I wasted. See all that black and brown tar in the filter of a cigarette after smoking one? Is that suppose to be good for you?
Who is this guy attacking Dr. Weil? Are you saying that every single doctor who says smoking I'd bad for you, should have their credentials and practice stripped from them? Sounds like you work for the tobacco industry.
Not sure about a couple of them, but at least one of the trash-talkers has been spamming the forum (and others) pretty hard over the intervening time, with such jewels as "tobacco-specific nitrosamines are just organic arsenic with a big scary name made up by the antis" and "Secondhand smoke is just water vapor".
Another has been spending so much time spamming this forum (with occasional shifts in user name) that it is doubtful anywhere else has felt much impact.
A third seems to go around spewing irrationality and tobacco industry party line anywhere he sees an opening, taking pride in having launched his insanity at prominent people in various places online as if his having been permitted to spew somehow made him right or important.
They seem to think the discredited opinion of a tobacco-country judge regarding the quality of scientific process is sacred, and dismiss someone with over a decade of post-doctoral study (at a prominent medical school) on the human heart as lacking medical training.
They are insulting, crass, and idiotic, yes, but America is a free country, after a fashion, and in this venue they have as much right to be ridiculously wrong as you or I have to be right.
