Judged: 5 5 3 Would you just stop with this "Freedom" CRAP. You sound like a 1%er. This has nothing to do with freedom, this is a HEALTH ISSUE. Non-smokers did WAKE UP and said enough is enough, non-smokers are no longer going to stay home because of YOUR filthy harmful smoking habit. Smokers are still welcome but your stinky harmful smoking habit is not. How hard is it for you to step outside and smoke so you don't risk harming innocent employees and patrons? You aren't suggesting we abolish all the laws, codes and ordinances to get your TOTAL "Freedom" are you? We live in a civilized society and laws, codes and ordinances keep it that way. You sound like one of those wacked out 1% that I saw pissing away their life last fall, that got you a long way didn't it? You should change your name to "FreeDUMB". |

Judged: 3 2 2 He's probably a Ron Paul supporter. That means that he suddenly considers himself a Constitutional scholar, familiar with the intricacies of what our Founding Fathers had in mind for this country, well versed in the inner workings of the legal system at the State and Federal level. He's an expert, you see. We must defer to his vast knowledge and experience. He just has the Ron Paul bug. Blah blah blah Constitution this and that. You know how they get, talking out of their asses with no formal education in law. Reading was never his strong suit, but he knows how to get angry when faced with things he doesn't fully comprehend. That makes him an expert on anything and everything. |

Judged: 2 1 1 I'm not sure how Freedom Fries Jr thinks I got smoked. I actually don't even know what thread he's talking about. You see, at some point, I do realize, like someone else said, that arguing with idiots online is like participating in the Special Olympics. I wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment. Lots of threads on here go down like that. I tend to let idiots have the last word because it only helps me in the long run. The longer I let a thread sit without a reply, the more it eats away at their animal urge to feel vindicated somehow. All I'm doing is manipulating their insecurities. That part of Topix entertains me immensely. I also have no idea who Shane Hilton is. Absolutely no idea. You guys do realize I'm a Shreveport resident and I moved here from elsewhere in the US, right? Unfortunately, your nonsense keeps showing up in the Bossier City Topix. I wish it wouldn't, but as long as it does, you're going to keep reading my opinions from time to time. |

Judged: 4 3 1 Nonsmokers, like anyone else, have the right to choose to be in a smokeless or smoking environment. But how far does that right extend? Should it take priority over someone else's right to choose as well? Court houses, publicly-owned buildings and anywhere else an individual might be forced to go should be included in any smoking law. What should not be included are places located in or on private property, providing an individual is not compelled by law to frequent or work at that specific location. Judged: 2 2 2 Once again, your assumptions fail you. I'm not a liberal. You paint with a broad brush too hastily. I simply think Ron Paul is a crackpot who has ideas which are not viable unless you enjoy anarchy. I like his fiscal concept and some of his other ideas. Still, a liberal, I am not. |

Judged: 1 Ron Paul is far from being my candidate for president! I think he is to far out there! Newt is by far the most qualified and most intelligent . He has an exceptional grasp of foreign knowledge unlike the disasterous administration that has destroyed or foreign relations and economy!! But the sad fact is that Newt is unelectable. That leaves tap dancing Romney who is much like Obama except without the Socialists agenda! I am a registered independent and believe just about any Republican elected would be far better tan Obama under any conditions!!! We can't survive another 4 years of Obama! The United States has lost all respect under his leadership and is in a downward spiral!!!!!! He is trying to destroy our military next!!! What's after that? |

I never said I was a conservative. I disagree with just about everything you said. That's why I'm a moderate. It's one thing to call yourself an Independent because you take with you ideals from both sides. It's quite another to be a far right conservative who knows nothing of Socialism. An Independent conservative is nothing more than a really angry Republican who doesn't want to own up for GOP incompetence. You guys are all over the place. It's a cowardly place to plant your political affiliation. Just admit you're a Republican and be done with it. This is why I think declaring yourself an Independent is deceptive. Hatred for Obama is not a conservative tenet, unfortunately. It's a personality flaw. |
|
Maybe we need to run you for president! You seem to know everything about any subject that comes up! But you really don't !! Just exacally what do you call a moderate? Everyone I know calls them someone that stands for what's popular has no loyalty to no one! You know nothing about me but yet you think you can analyze me! You are Sooooooo wrong. I've been in politics my entire adult life. Members of my family are state elected officials. My family has been politicaly involved with 3 different Governors! So I could probably teach you a thing or two about politics. You are spouting political designs that you have no idea of what you are talking about! Because you do not agree with someone does not make you right! Although you think you are the smartest kid on the block doesn't mean you are!!! Voice your opinions on things you know about not what you think you know!!!!!!!!

I've already defined a moderate in my previous post. Try reading it again. I take views from both sides. I know nothing about you? You just expressed multiple political stances 2 posts ago. You're anti-Obama. You're anti-Romney. You use Socialism as a buzz word. You think Obama is out to destroy the military. You think the economy tanked on Obama's watch. If that doesn't scream InfoWars NewsMax WND fanboy, I don't know what does. You may have family in politics, but anyone here can tell you politicians are idiots. I wouldn't use your political ties to make a point if I were you. I should run for President, but my past is littered with trips to the titty bars and I'm an Atheist. No Atheist can win that election. I'm an educated man with moderate views and a respect for compromise. We'd have English declared a national language. I'd stop this religious influence on gov't. I'd take a second look at HCR and go with an opt-in opt-out offer on the table. I'd consider drilling for oil state-side, but I'd kick some hindquarters to get us going on green energy. I'd get rid of the ethanol in our fuel. I'd initiate welfare reform and military spending. I would not legalize weed. I'd push to reform the filibuster. I'd like to get rid of this notion of a super majority. I would not ban guns, but I'd find individual things gun owners agree with and go one at a time. Screw the NRA lobby. If Meghan McCain and Rachel Maddow can agree on specific gun regulations on the floor of an NRA convention, then that's where to begin. Oh yes, I've got something for everyone. I stand by my claims unless you can start posting criticisms of the GOP that prove you're an independent conservative. That's right. Heads on the chopping block include Bush, Boehner, Vitter, McCain, and even your beloved Newt Gingrich. They all have faults. I want to see if you have the stones to really call yourself an Independent. |

I'm going to repeat myself because I know you are just dying to defend your paranoia right now. You're probably bursting at the seams. I am asking you to be über critical of the GOP, names included. Only then can you begin to criticize the other side.
The way I see it, if you can fess up and admit numerous faults in people who vote on your side of the fence, then you have something of an impartial critical mind, capable of putting blame where it is due. If you can't, then like someone else who came on the Shreveport Topix, you're nothing more than a partisan hack. Yes, a hack. The party line obstructionists need to be voted out. I'd vote for a liberal. I'd vote for a conservative. What I won't do is stand here and tell you either side's pile of feces doesn't stink to high heaven. It does. Pretty bad. That's why understanding the reasons behind this smoking ban is so important. People who oppose the ban do so because they are hopped up on anti-liberal Kool Aid, not because they understand personal freedoms. Suddenly, anyone who supports the ban becomes a bleeding heart liberal. They disregard the notion that second hand smoke is harmful. All it boils down to is, they refuse to shake hands with anyone who disagrees with them. They're a bunch of children in diapers as far as I'm concerned and they have no place making policy decisions like this. They only serve to distract us with these inane partisan rants and I'm tired of that BS. |

Obama ran on a platform of change. After years of putting up with a smoke stinking husband as his personal nanny she inacted a first ....quit smoking Mr President. Don't know why she married a smoker in the first place other than anti smokers are a little twisted upstairs, and compelled to believe in the government telling you how to live now that it is bankrupt.
