Anyone watch the show? There are five Crab Boat Captains. Three of the five sit at the helm and chain smoke all day. Two of those three have had heart attacks in the last couple of seasons.

The latest one was on camera. The guy(Sig Hansen) gets the chest pains, thinks he's going to die, and gets REALLY scared. All the big man tough talk that smokers cling to when they're not having a heart attack evaporates. All that "we all die someday", "cigarettes are no more dangerous than car exhaust on the freeway", and other such nonsense go away quick when the chest pain starts.
He doesn't die, but the thing is, when he is actually faced with the consequences of smoking, he vows to quit right then and there. The VERY FIRST conclusion he comes to is that smoking is to blame for his near death experience. He's not a 'victim of the anti-propoghanda', he's a guy that finally admitted what you all already know, but are still in denial about.

His attempts to quit consist of sticking some patches on himself.(like many addicts, he had them on board because he'd been planning on quitting some day).

He makes it three hours before he uses his addict mindset to rationalize that it would be better to quit some other day. Lights up again. One of the saddest things I've ever seen.

His addiction is going to kill him. It is going to leave his wife and kids alone. It's hard to think of something more selfish or stupid.

World's oldest man and oldest surviving WWI veteran passes away at 113...credits his longevity to "cigarettes, whisky and wild, wild women."

We know however, that he must have been a liar, because from everything the smoking ban activists tell us, smoking causes instant death.

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/090718/world/b...

Sat Jul 18, 8:19 AM

LONDON (AFP)- Henry Allingham, the world's oldest man and oldest World War I veteran, died Saturday at the age of 113, the nursing home where he spent his last years said.

Allingham, who in 2008 led the country in marking the 90th anniversary of the World War I armistice, put his longevity down to "cigarettes, whisky and wild, wild women."
I look for the tobacco control activists to either attack the credibility, military duty, and/or age of Henry Allingham.....or try to ignore the press released story altogether. Perhaps they'll get the Agence France Presse to change Mr. Allingham's quote to put his longevity down to "Nicoderm, whisky and wild, wild women."

Stress is a major contributor to heart attacks, something trolls like you won't admit. Again with the feeble attempt to throw out the label addiction. What about your pathetic addiction to force people to live your lifestyle. That job (deadliest catch) is one of the most dangerous and yes the more stressful the job the higher the prevalence of smokers. In case you didn't know it smoking is a major stress reliever. But I would hardly expect a troll such as youself to admit that.

First. I could not care less if you smoke or not. NOBODY is forcing you to live any kind of lifestyle. You are ever the Drama Queen. Get over it. Smoke all you wish.

Second. HE was the one who blamed smoking for his condition, not me. I just remarked on how sad and selfish it was.

Third. Let's see. Stress causes heart attacks and smoking relieves stress. Then why is he having an attack. Keep telling yourself lies. You know the truth. Maybe you'll actually admit it when the chest pains start. All your big man tough talk will disappear just as fast as his did.

"Smoking relieves stress" is a lie. Smoking increases hypertension and blood pressure. The controlled, rythmic breathing that smoking forces you to do has a relaxing effect that has nothing to do with cigarettes. You are lying to yourself. Every time you claim that cigarettes don't harm your health, you are lying to yourself.
Lies.
You put up a lot of big man tough talk, but you know it's true. When the chest pains start, you'll have no more denial and lies to hide behind.

It is not me that lies. Smoking does relieve stress.

You are proof that your article is a lie........

"In some of the subjects, nicotine was associated with a reduced tendency to retaliate, even after provocation by the ''opponent''."

If you are so stress free, why all the whining?

Fighting against tyrants such as yourself is hardly stressful, actually it is a pleasure and an honor. Whining, exposing the tyranny of Tobacco control is indeed an honor.

You are surely referring to the Control Tobacco has over the Addicts that use it. You don't need to expose it. Addicts are easy to spot.

Wikipedia states: "He follows the "Norwegian Fisherman's Diet" while at sea: Coffee, Chocolate and Cigarettes."

The following link explains the effects of caffeine/coffee on heart conditions:

http://www.teeccino.com/heart.aspx

While smoking certainly doesn't "help" his condition, cutting down drastically on caffeine intake alone may help alleviate his condition.

Your reach just doesn't extend far enough, Frisbee.

Your aversion to smoking deters you from including the MANY other factors that would be considered BEFORE smoking.

Once Again.

HE was the one who blamed smoking for his condition, not me. I just remarked on how sad and selfish it was.

HE is the one who vowed to quit on the spot when faced with the reality of Chest Pain.

If you want to tell yourself lies that your smoking isn't damaging you, knock yourself out. Everyone talks big until the chest pain starts.

I've seen way too many people go through it. They all talked big until they started wasting away. It's the worst, saddest thing in the world.
Going out of your way, actually paying thousands of dollars a year to go through it is about the stupidest thing I can think of. But that's your choice. Claiming that exposing others to it is somehow a 'freedom'? That's lunacy.

As I stated: smoking certainly does not help his condition. What will you vow to quit when you are clutching your chest?

I am waiting. 55 plus years of smoking and still healthy. a neighbor 70 plus years of smoking and still healthy. My wife 55 plus years of smoking. She just had 3 chest xrays, 2 because they did not believe the first one. Clear lungs.According to the doctor it is impossible. The nurse says he still believe what he has been taught even though he does not find the results they told him he was supposed to get. Now I can go on for hours of people my age who are healthy. I can go on for hours on non-smokers who are not healthy. Right now I do not know one smoker who is sick. I take that back I do know one and I would say it is not smoking related but just look here in Topix the articles on smoking. All diseases are smoking related, if you listen to the ones who profit off the bans and high taxes.

This statment of yours just proved you to be a lier.
Are you saying because you dont smoke you will not suffer any healyh issuse in life? Hard to believe, as the graveyards are full of people that lead a healthy life style. and your no different. You will probably start to clutch your chest sooner then half the smokers in here. I hope you do live a long life (bitter as i is). But i doubt it. good luck to you.
