Senate OKs plan to ban smoking in bars, eateries

Michigan is closer than it's ever been to snuffing out smoking from most bars, restaurants and workplaces.

I have worked in the restaurant industry for the last 17 yrs in both front of the house and back of the house. There is no getting away from the smoke. The workers smoke downstairs were I have to get stock, they smoke in the bathroom, right out side the kitchen door, I have to share and office with a smoker. It is so offensive. And having a boss who is a smoker does not help the fight. So if I have a michigan law that protects me and my health I do not have to fight any more about this indoor smoke issue.

As a former smoker who now hates the smake smell, I still do Not favor banning smoking in all public places, lose one freedom of someone elses then when it comes to your freedom loss, what do you expect?? Smoking isn't illegal yet is it??
