Does anyone else wake up in the middle of the night EVERY night? I get up at 3AM give or take 15 minutes every single night. I then have to get up to get water to fall back asleep. It's really annoying. Is there anything I can do in my daily habits to stop this? I wake up around 6 AM every day for work and take the occasional nap in the afternoon (like once or twice a week). I eat a good dinner and avoid booze and caffiene before bed. Any ideas??

1 I have a same problem for last 3 weeks. I am waking up at 3am and cannot go back to bed. It is always at 3am sharp. I am so tired as I have to wake up and go to work at 6am. I wish I could go back to sleep but I cannot. I write a journal but didn't see any difference in my life yet. Honestly, I wish this would stop as I am so tired. I was using sleeping pills to help me but unfortunately that didn't help... I was up again at 3am...:-( |

1 Do you snore? Does a bed partner mention that you "stop breathing at times" in your sleep? If so, go see a sleep specialist as apnea can wake you up especially in Rem sleep where your muscle tone drops off and your airway gets more impaired. Good Luck |

Same problem!! Havent found an answer yet...I am 3 months pregnant and wake up at 3 am every morning, give or take 15 minutes. I read another forum where most people associated this with insomnia and depression, when I heard that it made alot of sense, maybe go talk to a theropist, or sleep doctor?? I need answers too, would take any suggestions...

Had this waking up problem at 3am for years. For me it start when I was alone in the world. I found if I keep my mind busy with projects and etcs. I have no problems with it now. Nowever I take naps and I have to be careful not to waking up the family....

i have been waking up recently every night at 2am and cannot get back to sleep! I used to be able to sleep through anything and always slept very well. I am cranky for the fact that I cannot even get myself back to sleep and have to get up at 5am for work. I have tried keeping myself up as late as possible, tried drinking (that always used to work) and avoiding caffeine altogether for a day. Nope. Didn't work, still up a 2am....

I am waking up at 4:40 sharp. Even after daylight saving time change. And then I would on/off until 7 when I have to get up for work - not really sleeping. Very annoying and making me feel tired during a day. My mind is busy after waking up with unpleasant thought - so I think it is psychological problem.

I have to ask if, when you guys are waking up, you need to get up and urinate? I've suffered from insomnia for years and I just read a book by a sleep specialist called "Sound Sleep, Sound Mind" that pointed out something that really got my attention.
I usually wake up once a night and use the bathroom. I thought this was pretty normal, especially because I drink a lot of water. However, this guy says that getting up at night to urinate is a strong indicator of sleep apnea (not getting enough oxygen at night). I'm thinking about having a sleep study done, but I have to check with my insurance first. If you want more info, check out the doc's site: www.sleeptreatment.com . |

What time does every one go to bed at night. 3a.m seems to be common. I wake at 3:43 a.m. every single night.
That exact time spooks me. I go to bed around 9 ish |

I wake up at 2am everynight, reglardless of what I do. I can drink 10 shots of Svedka vodka at night pass out and wake up sober at 2am. I can drink wine and wake up at 2am. I take simply sleepy and wake up at 2am. I can do nothing and wake up at 2am. Alcohol, which used to make me sleep past sunrise, has no effect on this mystery making me wake up at 2am.
I live in the burbs, everyone is asleep, no exterior noises, no sonic booms, no alarms, no noise. I am not worrying about anything when I fall asleep. I hate this. All I want, more than anything, is to sleep for 7-8 hours. PLEASE :( WTF?????????? As silly as it sounds.....Am I actually entertaining the thought the MATRIX has me? Or some gov't brain wave machine thingy is activated every night at 2am. I pray for slumber! |

This is a real issue for a lot of us. I take benadryl because of the time release. I take melatonin. I drink herbal tea. I exercise. While, my professional life isn't where I'd like it to be, I have happy relationships and have no real worries or stresses -except this sleep issue. It's cumbersome. I'm tired of being tired. If I didn't have to get up to go to work in the morning I'd just go with it and be productive at 3am then sleep in till 10.

Ok, so i hear of everyone talking about stress in the middle ages and all these symptoms happen to those older than me (im 16). Should i be going through this stage at such a young age?**confused and worried**

most the time low melatonin causes sleep problems which low melatonin can result from depression, anxiety, eating disorders, weight loss etc. it happens to me too. exact same minute every single night.
meditation and relaxation before bedtime can help a lot. |
