I am white as a ghost, no tan, use suntan lotion and get made fun of becuase of it. But I say, when I'm 40, I will still look like I am 20 something and you will look like 80 and die of cancer. This lucky girl is right, it's not worth it! I will keep her in my prayers!

Thank you talking about melanoma.
All of my friends live in tanning beds. I keep telling them it's not good for them but they don't listen.
Thank you April & Heather!

I have had many skin cancers both basal cell and squamous after growing up in St. Pete and sunning all my life as well as being red head. But I didn't realize melanoma isn't always from the sun until recently when my 32 year old niece discovered a light bruising under her thumb nail with ridges developing in the nail. After her biopsy, she was told it was melanoma and as a result, had her thumb partially amputated. We have discovered that this is more common than we ever thought and I think the public should be aware of this type which develops under the nails. Thanks for listening. Debbie

In this day and age, as one who 10 years ago was diagnoised with a stage 1-2 Melanoma on my back, I would strongly suggest that everyone check in with a 'good' dermaltologist annually to make sure they are clean...

We live in an area where the sun rays are out in full force almost on a daily basis and the temptation to have that bronze tan look can be our worst nightmare...

Keep in mind that the so-called 5 year rule is actually a 10 year rule for those who have had Melanoma...

Thank you Channel 10 News for such an educational news article and a big note of Thanks to Dr. J.L. Hedrick of Brandon....He is one of the best...Smile!!!
