Research: Tanning Beds More Dangerous Than Previously Thought

im 16 and I first tanned a week before going to my homecoming dance. I liked how i looked so i started tanning a month after and got dark pretty quick. I want these results to keep up, but are there ways you can go tanning but prevent from getting melanoma?

I feel sorry for anybody who needs to tan to achieve a darker complexion.
