Are you allowed to smoke while you get a tan? Now that would be relaxing.

Without getting into a debate over health care, or if tanning beds are good for you, I seem to remember during the Presidential campaign Mr. Obama promising not to raise taxes on anyone making under 200K per year. Does he think that only the super rich use tanning beds? Why is he not being held accountable for passing this tax on to us?

A few months ago I went to my doctor and I learned the entire office was going computerized. All records were being put on the computer and paper files were being eliminated. I protested and told the people there that this switch-over was to make it easier for the government to gain access to our medical records. I was poo-pooed of course. Now I read that part of Obamacare is for the Feds. to have access to all our private, personal medical records. Thanks to our doctors, those records are ready and waiting for uploading into govt. computers. You have no privacy any more. In airports or in medical offices. Be careful what you tell your doctor.

Hey, hey, hey, hope and change for all. First, if there is anyone in the tanning industry who voted for Obama, how is that working for you now. Second, this should be no surprise. Obama is a socialist democrat and that is what socialist democrats due, raise taxes, then spend the money.

Just think, at least seven more years of Obama, unless he tries to repeal the 22 amendment.

"We expect it to have negative effect on the industry," said Rob Quinn, president of Tan Pro USA.."

Uh, I think that's the point, Rob. Turns out Americans aren't happy that millions of low-income folks without insurance are attracted to your cancer coffins, then when they get melanoma and can't treat it they end up in the ER on my dime.

I'd be happy to see you all go out of business. Of course, that wouldn't be American. But taxes? Hell yes, taxes are fine. Just like cigarettes. You want to kill yourself out in the sun for free? Fine. Have at it. You want to do it at a business? Well, we the people have every right to tax the hell out of that business to get some of our money back.

Will Obama tax Nancy Pelosi's face lift and botox? If her face gets any tighter it will look like an unopened tube of Braunschweiger.

I guess all the tanning parlor owners and their customers make in excess of $200,000. That way Barry could keep his promise not to raise taxes on folks making less than that amount.

Oh my god - are most Dispatch readers really this crazy, or just the ones that reply (which would include myself, sadly)?

Taxes are instituted by conservatives as well. My own profession had tax added onto it - unfairly - under Gov. Taft's direction. So ixnay the ullsh*tbay on taxes/liberals. I'm so tired of that. This tax had NOTHING TO DO W/OBAMA. Nothing.

Tanning beds have been proven to have little intrinsic value and to be extremely harmful to the body. So - sin tax? Yeah. You wanna be brown in Jan and can afford it? Then cough up a little dough for those just wanting to take care of their cancer or diverticulitis.

Man, what a group of whiners.

Wonder if they took out the BoTox tax at the urging of Biden? His forhead although different in color resembles the shape and texture of a bowling ball, I dont think his forhead moves one bit...
