There are some alternatives to drugs that can be explored - ketogenic, modified atkins and LGIT diets, neurobehavioral therapy, EEG neurofeedback, etc.:

What is happening to people nowadays? So much medication? They're medicating small kids in school like crazy. Why do they always think drugs are the answer?
