Hello, I am a 18 year old male. I think I have schizophrnia. I will describe my symptoms:

Hallucinations - I frequently turn around or see something appear such as a person or small object, but they dissapear before I can fix my vision onto them.

More Hallucinations - I had a major hallucination (or maybe it was real? <-- ahh schizophrenia) What happened was, I was trying to sleep. I dont usually sleep till around 1-2am. But satan appeared, I had my eyes closed, and he appeared in a black circle. Even if I opened my eyes, I saw the same thing as I saw when my eyes were closed. I talked to him, I don't think the conversation is relevant but I did communicate with him. And he sort of said that he was satan.

Me - Are you satan, lucifer, the devil?

Him - I have many names.

For the day after I felt as if he was in my body, I sporatically through the day had visions (lasting mere seconds) of a birds eye view of myself and there would be a hollographic-type outline of him on/in my body.
I had to leave school that day, he left my body just as I left school.

Paranioa - I have had this a lot over the last year. One major episode where I thought everybody was at a party was out to get me (two people where actually out to get me, but I believed everybody was.)

Voices - I hear the same most nights who talks to me, it doesent really make much sense in its words so I tend to be able to tune him out. But the other night, I had a conversation with the universe. Yes in the universe. It told me that it(the universe) is a concsious being. I talked to it for about ten minutes, and when I got up to write it down it left.

Thats all I can think of right now. Are these symptoms of schizophrenia, am I begining to get it or do I have it.

I know that these things are not real this is why I believe it is like a starting stage of schizophrenia will I if it is and it takes even more control of me, will I begin to belive what is happening?

Thanks, any feedback would be great!

Since you are so assure of your symptomes, you probably do not have schizophrenia. At least according to my psychiatrist, a person with schizophrenia can never set his own diagnosis. You might a psychotic depression or be bipolar

I Agree With Mr M, Anyone Who Has Any Kind Of Illness Is The Last Person To Relize It. From The Symptoms You Have Discribed I Dont Think You Would be Bipolar, But It Could Possibly Be Psychotic Depression.

Hallucinations when one is either about to fall asleep, or just beginning to wake up are quite common, as one is still in a state of semi-consciousness. They do not necessarily mean you have a psychological disorder.

isolating yourself is not the way. We are social creatures and need interaction with others.

Do some good research and talk to trained professionals and be wary of nuts in forums that are obviously out of touch with reality.

it's like breaking a bone and to keep trying to walk on it

ive heard of people having hallucinations like that when they are bipolar, depressive, or borderline.

its normal to have paranoia in bipolar and other depressive disorders sometimes. so dont worry too much about it.

just relax dude. meditate on letting everything be till you lose will to move or think, but are awake and accept everything.
focus on your breathing and relax with every breath. as you breathe, let your muscles lose tension, and feel this moment exist in a way. accept it, and you will lose will but be awake and feel a sort of wellbeing.

other than that, see a shrink. stay out of meds if you can dude. i mean, if it gets so serious you can no longer deal with it, you might want meds, but try to stay away from them for the most part.

its improtant that you learn to deal with this through meditation and stuff.

if you can, see a reiki healer or something. try talking to yoga teachers or zen masters. i think that will help a lot because they will give you a ton of insight.

This is the worse place for you to ask questions about your health. There are just some mean people out there that say stupid things that could cause you even more harm. Go to someone that you know that loves you and ask them to help you get to a Dr.The Dr. may say you are perfectly fine. If you don't like the Dr you don't have to go anymore. As long as you are not hurting your self or any one else they can't force you to take meds or anything like that. Don't suffer through this alone, there are people that care very much about you.

Maverick

I agree with sizzle and Mom

The replies you got are not particularly helpful.

If you are being troubled by what is happening to you psychologists and psychiatrists can help. You don't have to be afraid of them.

What you are going through is not unusual.

I would like to say that medication is helpful for a lot of people. It may be a matter of finding the right one and dealing with side effects though. Some people may only have to take medication for a year or two

It is good that you are aware of what is happening and at such a young age, many people aren't.

I hope you find the help you need.

mom is right. i came here for help before and people said a lot of things that were way off, like i might have a brain tumor or absence epilepsy, when i showed little symptoms of these things.
you dont need to give yourself a diagnosis because that will only scare you.

most problems people have can be fixed, so dont stress out over this.

i would say see a doc, but watch out, because a lot of docs in some countries like the uk and america are supposedly in it for the money, and will not hesitate to drug you. i dont know how it is in australia though.
spiritual teachers are probably the best, because they use the most natural ways of healing yourself without medications. theres some pretty good things out there like meditation and yoga. also, watch out, because some people teach for money.

Hey Maverick
I am sorry to hear that you're suffering this way. It sounds scary! Unfortunately there are idiots and assholes everywhere that you can't ignore not even in a forum like this. Pathetic!
Anyways you're no idiot. You know this is off so I would try to find help immediately. Talk to someone you can trust atleast, and let them know whats going on with you. Its hard :( but you're strong. I would feel like shitting myself if i saw the devil too.

um just an opinion. I wouldn't agree with "one with nature" about seeing a reike healer or zen masters. I believe that that is dabling in the occult. I am saying this because I am a Christain and I believe that there are a lot of things innocent people aren't aware of that they think will help. It's just my belief. I wouldn't want to see somone walk in the trap of the enemy himself. I've heard countless stories of people who have dabbled with the occult unaware and what the outcome has been. I know that many believe that schizophrenia has something to do with people being possed. I dont know whether that is true or not, but it could be possible nevertheless. I suffer with schizophrenia as well and have a hard time grasping this. Anyways just know what your getting yourself into is what i'm trying to say. Phychics. witches, warlocks whatever it may be, people disguising themeselves as "healers" becareful.

no to offend you "one with nature" just my opinion

possed = possessed (i think thats the spelling?)
Meaning that an eveil spirit or demon has entered the person and is taking control of them. Hence the "voices" and "hulicinations" Its an interresting beilief. Although the secular world would say that its just an "illness" and to take meds?? I guess its up to the person to find out for themselves. Ofcourse I'm DEFINITELY NOT SAYING NOT TO TAKE MEDS! God gave us doctors and medication and not taking meds would obviously be idiodic. I am suffering from this illness myself and even though I believe in miracles I still wouldn't stop taking meds unless I knew I was healed.
Anyways I got off topic again..lol..I hope you find the help that you're looking for. Don't give up:)

i have to disagree with annonomous, because the "occult" is a load of bs. yes, you can be "possesed" with bad energy, but zen is quite the opposite. its being possesed with good healing energy which is your own.

btw, energy is just a creation of the mind.

god gave us nothingness. and this nothingness is what a zen practitioner uses to rid themselves of a desease.

i think zen and taoism (which i dont consider religions) are the way of life. everything else is people lost in though who cant get out of it.

peace

Take things gently otherwise you'll end up running round in ever-decreasing circles. Yes, you may still have a lot to do but you won't achieve very much if you develop butterfingers or waste all your energy on a full-blown panic. Maybe you could rope someone into helping you, rather than doing your Cinderella act in the kitchen while everyone else takes it easy?
