Hi Tom,
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer about a year before you. And my brother was also diagnosed about a month later. I was 66 and he was 58.
I chose the radioactive "seeding" as my treatment. The shorter time on the OR table and the shorter time of recovery from the surgery were two important factors in making up my mind.
My brother, who is 8 years younger, decided on surgical removal. He determined that the "nerve saving" surgical method of Dr. Walsh at Johns Hopkins Univ. Urological Department offered what he considered his best option.
Both of us now have a PSA of 0.1 or less. His is less than mine.
Another factor in my decision was that I had already enjoyed 8 more years of life than my brother, and probably didn't need as long of a post surgery life as he did.
Both of us are very glad that we chose the methods which we did.
Both of us still have the three vital functions which are sometimes lost -- continency, normal urination, and ability of erections.
With your younger age, I would recommend that you give the good folks at Johns Hopkins Univ. Hospital in Baltimore and set up an interview. You will be glad that you did. Ask for either Dr. Walsh or his right hand man -- Dr. Parton.

I just came out of prostate cancer surgery.......STONGLY recommend the Devinci Robotic route. Dr. Fagin in Austin, Texas is one of top 4 in country......it was a "piece of cake". No pain pills, back to work three days......fantastic improvement over other methods in my opinion. One day in hospital. Of the three things to be concerned about...cancer...he got it all......bladder control.....longest recovery for me, but haven't been doing Keagels like they say. Errection.....before 30 days was up, and I'm 66.:)

No any who find out they have it......keep the attitude, "only a moment" in time, and soon this will be over.....and my life was saved.:)

Tom,
I just found out about this juice, that a lot of people said that it can help people with prostate cancer.
It is a juice and do not have any side effect. It might be the best treatment for you.

Ken - seeds may be best, especially with new low-intnsity radiation techniques. But you have time to try an alternative therapy, and there probably are changes you need to make to your diet and supplements to be sure your cancer does not recur. Check out www.beat-prostate-cancer.net for more.

My Gleason score is 6. Slow growing cancer that may take years to become a problem.
I decided not treatment, only watchfull waiting.
In order to improve my chances of many more years, I did the following based on medical information:
1.- Cut the red meat completely.
2.- Eat tomate sauce(lycopene) every day.
3.- Drink every day at least 8 ounces of Pomogranete Juice .
4.- Exercise every day like walking, aerobics, etc.
I do this because of the many hours I have spent reading about this problem. I will suggest you read a lot, get inform before accepting radical treatment that you may regret.

I'm 57 years old. On 10/16, I went through a laparoscopic prostatectomy. They also removed 12 lymph nodes and performed a bone marrow draw. The cancer was confined to my prostate and all other indicators are clear. But....I had a high volume of malignancy, which was 4 times more than the doctors would have guessed. If I had opted for seed therapy (brachy therapy), I know I'd eventually have died from the disease. Also, before doctors remove your catheter (post-surgery), be sure to ask them to do a "cystogram", so ensure that the urethra and bladder are reconnected tightly. My doc removed mine at 9 days, and I leaked urine into my abdominal lining (peritoneum), and suffered greatly. Here's a site to read about cystograms. Best of luck. SW

You were disappointed in traditional medicine?
Long months and years of diagnostics and treatment have not brought desirable result?
You search for a way to help you or your relatives?
The clinic of family medicine the Adonis can help you.
Embryonic Cell Therapy. Used are different types of embryonic stem cells: hematopoietic,
nervous, thymic,
muscular, cutaneous, etc. We also work with less specialized embryonic stem cells
of mesenchimal, ectodermal, and endodermal origin. Each specific stem cell type has
its own special effects. The best results have been achieved through combination of
different cell types, depending on mechanisms of certain diseases and stages of
progress, etc.

At 59 my life has been going down hill since I was 48. I've been
getting physicals twice a year. When my PSA score doubled to 4.
something, after a few tests, I was scheduled for a biopsy mid July, 2006. This after I missed two appointments for the procedure.

I got the bad news a couple weeks later along with literature of my options. August 30 I met with a surgeon armed with my treatment of choice, seeding.

The surgeon recommended surgery. I questioned the finality and he essentially said, no matter, that I'd told him I wasn't very active. I asked for a time frame and he said October. His recommendation was so severe I wondered if the American Medical Community was goose stepping with my wellbeing.

In the winter and spring of 2006 I never slept more than three hours without urgency. When awake and about, every hour was the norm. Around
May, 2006, without thinking cancer, I began dulling cola sweetness
with lemon from concentrate.
Looking back, even as I was being advised surgery, the urgency was lessening. By the 2nd week in September 2006 I began watchful waiting along with an immune system strengthening/building diet. Currently,(as of) November 9,
2006 I can sleep 8 straight hours without a trip to the bathroom.

What does this mean? I wonder what my next PSA score will be?

Good afternoon everyone. I am a 42yr. old blackman that was just diagnosed with Prostate cancer. On 29 July 2005 my 51 yr. old brother told me he has Prostate cancer. I though "Oh boy!" This does not sound good. I usually get a full chech-up with family doctor twice a year. Test were great! Then in September of this year my PSA was 4.06nl/mg DAMN! He schedul me for an exam with a doctor at Mercy Hospital in Miami. After biopsy results from John Hopkins came back. I was told of the cancer. Of the 12 saples the last two "K" and "L" were positive for traits of cancer. I seeked a 2nd opinon. This doctor told me b/c of my age he felt "uncomfortable" doing the surgery of "nerve sparing" "You are so young to get this" Well! Cancer does not follow any rules! I ate right, exercised, don' t do drugs, stay away from sugars, don;t smoke and still get cancer. Why? "Heredity!" and being "black" The 2nd doctore asked e if I mind getting operation performed out of state in where else?? My hometown of B-more at "JHU" too far for me, reguardless of who does the surgery. Now I am just rying to figure out what to do! Wife's worry is what are you going to do if you can't get an erection. Mine if about "L-I-F-E!" Come to show you how people think when it it not them with the problem!
