U of R stimulus funds update

34 million to reatain 116 jobs? Give the money back to the feds and use your own. The average salary must be about $293K!

I did the math, and it works out to $285,714.29 to "reatain" each job. Could have built 119 factories for that amount of money!

While a lot of them seem like worthwhile causes, I'd hardly consider these causes as big "Economic stimuli". Parkinson's research? How's that going to help the economy? All the jobs listed seem to be the sort that either dry up, or will need constant re-funding. Where's the stimulus in that?

What a joke.

34 million can buy a huge amount of machine tools, like CNC equipment, And create thousands of jobs. What our we thinking...is this leadership ?

They UofR is so conected. They used the 34 million to hire a bunch of washed up has beens from Kodak to manage the place. I fully understand why they yellow box is no more.
