Study links Parkinson's disease to pesticide exposure

I am curious about this report accuracy.
My wife has young onset PD she is from farm country in North
Carolina,many farmers spread pesticides in the family washing
machine from their clothes co-mingling with other non farm workers
family members clothing.
My wifes 3 brothers never had Parkinson's disease ,just her.
Why?
We are still in the infancy of discovering this awful illness.
Generalizing PD such as in this report needs to under score that
this is yet another theory that has been floating around for decades
and may not lead to anything close to a cure.

As a Pest Control Operator, I find the headline to this article a little deceiving. Newsday has had a long history of pesticide bashing so it shouldn't surprise me. Using the word pesticide only scares people. The study found a possible link to two obscure herbicides in CA. Most business owners like myself have been using soaps and oils and any other green type product that is effective. NYS recently spent many years researching the possible link from Chlordane and DDT to breast cancer. The final report stated that there was no link whatsoever. I encourage more research on the topic and at the same time, the public should be made aware of the efforts of your local Tree-Sprayers and Pest Control operators to use safe and effective materials. We are just as concerned about your health and our environment as you are.

my wife's family are farmers that do
their own spraying as per OSHA
guidelines. Glad you said the 2 pesticides are rare and obscure.
Like I said in my wifes case if PD comes
from pesticide why did not all the people in this family on the farm get PD?

Has anyone examined the effects of dry cleaning agents as a possible trigger for early Parkinsons?
