My mother has episodes, she starts screaming, and closes her eyes and starts crying..she keeps saying, I cant, I cant, I cant...or get me out of here, get me out of here..she wants to go from one furniture to the other to make herself comfortable but it doesnt work. Now she doesnt know who we are, she tells my dad..your daughters. or you have so many daughters and strangers are taking care of me. They keep changing her medications back and forth, but it doesnt seem to help. Right now she is the psych ward to see if they find out what is wrong with her. It is sad to see her this way..have anyone gone thru this with their relatives? or themselves? thank you

I have heard and seen several testimonials of the benefit of a machine called VBPM recliner (venous blood pressure modulator) ; Many people with Parkinson decreased their tremor, facial masking and improved motor abilities and decreased medication dependency; Few people did not benefit but this was the exception rather than the rule . The Inventor himself had heart disease initially and saved himself major cardiac surgery and found that it benefits his friend with parkinson. I guess if you google it VBPM or www.bpmtherapy.com ., you may find a free offer to try it in michigan and may see some testimonials on YouTube. Good luck.

I'm very interested in dating my best friend "P". We both have great chemistry for one another. He says he would love to date me but he's scared. He has early onset Parkinson's.(I'm 22 and he's 27) I told him I have no issue with it whatsoever, but he claims girls in the past have cheated on him and teased him about it. He's nervous about getting hurt again. I'm not like that however. I would support and care for him. What should I be aware of/ what are some things I should know about being involved /dating someone with Parkinson's? I want to make sure I can be as understanding as possible and so I know what to expect.
Please help. This is all new to me but I 100% do not mind nor see this as a burden whatsoever.

The absolute number one thing you can do is just BE EMOTIONALLY SUPPORTIVE. I worked as a volunteer for Brooklyn Parkinson Group for a little over a year now, and I also do medical research that pertains to PD. Many individuals diagnosed with PD also have depression. You can try looking for community support groups around your area. Group counseling may help, or anything that encourages social interaction and engagement. For example, BPG offers free dance classes to individuals with PD and their families. The emphasis of each class is to allow each PD participant to explore the creative potential of their bodies without feeling self-conscious. Some research has been done by Hackney and Earhart on how dance can be an alternative therapy for the motor deficits associated with PD.
