He's trash and deserves his moment of infamy. And why the American flag behind him? I can only imagine what he does to his family behind closed doors when he's willing to go that far in public to an elderly man with Parkinson's disease.

"Throwing money" at a problem is considered a vicious attack? So, "throw" your money our way so we can fight it? These people are so full of it-it makes me sick

When GWB was elected the 1st time, I expressed sadness over the immediate wipe out of a few cherished policies from Clinton's administration to a repub friend. She immediately bit my head off with a nasty, "you lost, get over it." I was shocked at immediate, arrogant meanness of it. This guy is apparently much the same as are most of the repubs in office in D.C. Right now they're childishly stopping work at 2:00 p.m. instead of getting on with other important work. It's time to work together and ... get anger management classes if you need them. Nobody gets their way all the time, not even Obama who had to compromise on many issues in this bill. Good grief. Embarrassing.

Mr. Reichert I agree that what you did was somewhat out of line , but what this man was doing was also out of normal porciedure .
Just like the little boy the President used ( USED ) to play on the emotions of the Legislators ,
the little boys mother died from Cancer.
The President was implying that if his Health Care Plan had been in force she would not have died ..........THAT IS A LIE ..........
And I would like to know if this man with Parkinsons had ever been " DENIED " health care ,
and if so , tell us the Hospital that would not treat him .
He to , like the President was " implying ", that if this health care plan passed , he would
survive..........THAT IS A LIE ALSO.

My Prayer for you Mr. Reichert is that you remain a caring person and that you continue
to get involved in politics , because you , and people like you are our only chance to
survive as a NATION .

this is what happens when citizens don't allow themselves to view anything but cable news programs that offer little more than scare tactics. i'm not shocked the viewers of Fox News are scared – if there were any ounce of truth to most of their statements, i suppose it would be frightening. in the end, though, people need to be responsible for themselves and learn to self-educate. fear mongers disguised as reporters are not where one should be getting his "news."

I agree. An uninsured person with Parkinson's advocating for a bill that would allow him medical coverage without bankrupting him or forcing high-cost emergency room visits on the public is completely out of line.

And yes, people like Reichert.....elitist bullies completely lacking in self-control, are the only chance our country has to survive.

I know you'll be reading these too, Chris. You should be embarrassed and ashamed, as a father an as a human being. You've set a poor example for your children by making bogeymen out of your neighbors. You've let right-wing talking points take control of your life and you've disrespected another human being in the process. And, thankfully, it's captured on video, forever. No one's gonna tax you out of your home. Turn off the cable news and WTVN. You've allowed your mind to be poisoned.

Maybe he saw Nancy Pelosi say "we have to pass this bill so we can see what's in it". To say that a cable news network is at fault for showing (even a little) of what has been going on is what is scary. If the whole thing was put on C-Span as what was "promised" than everyone could just put the blame for our quicken pace to socialism(communism?) where it belongs.

So quietly sitting at a protest is "out of order?" Quiet civil disobedience helped move this country forward in terms of civil rights, ending wars, and getting far more people to hear your side of an issue than screaming. Furthermore, Reichert was not innocent except for the moment caught on tape. He was pacing the crowds, whipping people into a frenzy shouting disrepectful language at the top of his lungs. He was the ringleader, not a momentary lapse in judgment. "People like you areour only chance to survive as a NATION." God help us all, liberal and conservative alike, if more people like him are going to "save" our nation. It's alright to be angry, to disapprove of pending or actual legislation. I remember hearing for 8 LONG years that if I didn't agree with our President I was not a patriot. That I was un-American. I should LEAVE the country if I felt the need to openly disagree with my President and Congress. People got arrested for wearing Pink t-shirts in the Congressional viewing areas. Yet, elected officials can be spit on, threatened, verbally abused outside and on the floor of Congress and this is supposed to SAVE our country?

How about civil discourse? How about actually READING the bill and the reconciliation bill and having civil conversations about it rather than, "NO NO NO?" If you guys had SO many good ideas about incrementally reforming health care, how come there wasn't a SINGLE BILL introduced or even SEVERAL BILLS introduced from 1994-2006 when you had control of Congress to specifically address health care reform? If you have ideas, you want to save our country, THEN STATE THEM. Rather at a health care summit your representatives just say "do over! NO! Start over!"

And since I'm on a roll with this rant - please, for love that is holy, STOP USING THE TERM TEA-PARTY. Have you READ your history books? Here's a refresher. The original tea-party was due to TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION. You have a representative. You have MULTIPLE representatives. You have a State Representative & Senator, city council members, mayor, a US Congressional & 2 US Senate representatives. You get to vote for every single one of these people. You get to read every piece of legislation that is before him or her. You even have the opportunity to speak at either the Statehouse or watch debates at the Federal level in person or on CSPAN. Don't have cable? Go to the library and watch it. STOP CALLING YOURSELVES TEA PARTIERS. It's insulting to the original point and it's quite inaccurate. If the title of your "movement" is inaccurate, how am I to believe anything you state as "fact?"

Sorry, exactly why did the Dispatch choose to take this guy's picture in front of an American flag? Is the Dispatch trying to impress us that this guy is some kind of patriot? Wow, the Dispatch can't even criticize a member of the Right without also trying to make him look like a good old 'Merican who just let his love of God and country overwhelm him.

Wish I were remotely surprised by that but I've lived here long enough to know what to expect from the Dispatch.

Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic...

I am not talking about Mr. Reichert's comments at the rally but all the comments on the Dispatch. Hypocrites scream and moan when someone says something that could be hateful all the while screaming at others on here. At least Mr. Reichert has the fortitude to stand up in person and say it. You people hide on the internet and complain that he yelled at person and threw money at him all the while screaming on here about killing or mutilating others. What he said was no different than half of what I heard coming from Democrat's mouths when Bush as in office. Grow up and stop being hypocrites.

This...is America? People...that act with disgust much in the way people treated Jesus on his way to his crucifixion? I cannot believe the video I just viewed. Compassionless. Self-serving with no regard to their fellow man.

This guy and those that share his views do not need hatred thrown back at them. They need our prayers.

They may some day need help from others, and most will still offer a hand. They may have already received help from others, yet pull back to their self-righteous ways. How can a human being act this way? A person with a wife, and children. If those he cared for needed other's help, would he be grateful? Would he be appalled that someone threw money at them saying they were worthless if the unforeseen were to happen and he could no longer provide for them?

Mr. Reichert, I'm sorry you've been singled out. You are certainly not alone, and there are far worse people. And people should not be angry at you, they should pray for you. And the greatest gift you could provide your family would not be to donate some money only after you were identified, not to apologize only after people express disgust...but to genuinely show your children and others through mindfull actions that you truly care about others. That those that need help are not to be spit upon.

Hey Chris,
I didn't know you had 2 kids. Quite a lesson you're teaching them, huh? Have a black heart, and try to buy your way out of anything. I understand people make mistakes, but what you did wasn't a mistake. It was pure hatred. Take a look at the video, you'll see it....

If all of us were filmed as we relate to others, we'd act better and the world would be better. I hope the two men meet and work together to help get the health care info out.
Both men have the opportunity to see the other side of an issue about with they are passionate. They can compare their insurance situations, their tax situations. Usually, we surround ourselves with like-thinking people and don't have a chance to see the other side.

What this man did was stupid, and wrong. What he did after wards is refreshing; he did not blame anyone else or any other circumstances...just a simple "I lost my temper, and I am sorry." And to do it on the front page of a paper tells me he is truly sorry for what he did. We humans make mistakes everyday, but the true test of character lies with those willing to own up to their behavior and say."...I messed up, I apologize and I want to make it right...."
