Isn't is amazing in this day and age that there are still some classy people out there who knew what Mr. Jobs was going through but allowed him to keep his privacy. This is wonderful news. I am sure Apple stock will fly through the roof when Mr. Jobs returns. Wishing a speedy recovery!

Who cares...he's a CEO of a computer company...it would be different if he had an important job that changed lives, saved lives, etc. I could care less about this guy and his health issues...

I agree with you. It is unfortunate that this somehow was made public. I expect that there will be comments made later today that will berate Jobs for being wealthy and being pushed to the head of the line for a transplant. If everyone would elect to become an organ donor this would not be an issue. Also, people can donate a portion of their livers while they are still living as the liver is an organ that can regenerate itself. Not many people are willing to do that, but there are some that will. Complain about the selfish people that are not organ donors and not about the people that have received transplants. |

Ah yes...the old "I can't come to work today because a had a liver transplant" excuse.(Somehow, it didn't fly with my boss.)

I wish you good health, Mr. Jobs.
Love my Apple. And to poster above: It has changed many lives. |
||||
Actually, he's wildly reported to be a jerk-@ff and egomaniac. Not an easy guy to work for, and, if it matters, is personal/family life has been spotty (e.g., Denying paternity and later acknowledging it, etc). |

Get well soon Mr. Jobs. We need you to do more on your product with newer items that are still affordable! That is just what makes a difference in general life with good people. All of us should make sure that you are an organ donor. This person that donated the liver to Mr. Jobs just made a difference so that someone else could live and is making a difference everyday. This the good life.

Apparently you do since you read the article. |

Yes, he is very difficult to work with (and can be an a@@; this is both his fellow employees or other tech vendors he has negotiated with in the past). I own one Apple product, the rest are Windows based. That being said, he (along with Mr. Gates) revolutionized the computer industry, which created a worldwide impact, and I believe for the good. Regardless if you love or hate Apple or Steve Jobs, this is still a man who was very ill, some empathy and compassion would be nice, as it is very hard to find now days. |

how many places up on the donor list did his money get him?

Here's to a speedy recovery.
I loved my Mac and tho I have a IBM thinkpad and a Blackberry now, someday I will own another Apple, or ipod, or iphonve. |

His company revolutionized how people work and communicate. Don't know why you aren't aware of that. And why you felt the need to share your unique form of disinterest. |
||||
Maybe he had a family member who matched his profile and donated a portion of his/her liver. And by the way he came by his wealth thru innovation and hard work. |

Privacy is certainly at issue. And to those persons leading private lives, they are absolutely entitled. Mr. Jobs, however, does not lead a public life. Mr. Jobs chose to access the PUBLIC equity markets to finance his company with money from the PUBLIC. The federal laws require that events that would have a potential material adverse effect on a PUBLIC company are required to be disclosed to the PUBLIC. Apple and Mr. Jobs have repeatedly disregarded these laws. I appreciate that Mr. Jobs is apparently doing well. However, if Apple or Mr. Jobs feels that these are not public issues, then they are more than welcome to take their company private. Otherwise, the law cannot play favorites. |

Correction: "Mr. Jobs, however, does not lead a PRIVATE life."

It's Bush's fault.

I wonder how he managed to jump to the head of the line for a liver.
