There will be MORE lawsuit and I hope they (Pfizer)have to pay back ALL the money to the people they injured with this drug, that we spent as a result of the damage/pain/problems this drug caused us.

All the doctor visits I had because of the side effects, the tests done, the medicines I had to buy, the PAIN I endured, the things I missed in life and I am NOT alone. None of the side effects I had were listed on the warnings and my doctor was as clueless as I was as to the root of my problem! LIPITOR!

I have been on Lipitor for several years and have seen great results. My doctor informed me of the side affects before he percribed the drug, and what to look for. I get my blood tested every 4 months. So far so good.

OK Connie, did he tell you about the memory problems? Did he mention TGA? Confusion? Stumbeling? Forgetting words? Not being able to pronounce some words? Joint pain? I ask you to PLEASE educate yourself to the true side effects so IF they happen, you will know what it is and be able to get off of them before any permanent damage is done.

I was on them for 6 faithful years and I really believed in them like you and so many others do. In fact, only 3 months ago, I would have defended them too. They were doing their job, had my cholesterol down and my doctor was happy. ONLY when I searched for a answer as to what was going on with my memory did I connect any of it it to the statins. GIVE ME A BREAK! Two bad apples spoil the barrel. How about all the lives that been improved and saved do to lipitor. For the good of the majority. oh forgot to mention, clinical, double blind placebo studies.

I was on Lipitor from l999 into 2003. I experienced sharp pains in the bottom of my feet, then went on to tingling in my feet, then had trouble walking straight with legs aching. Having been off Lipitor since, these symptoms gradually disappeared. I no longer have serious problems, just occasional leg weakness that makes me wonder if I am walking straight. I met a lady in a restaurant last year and she was having difficulty walking (far worse than I had) - I asked her if she was on Lipitor and she said yes. Peripheral neuropathy would be one way of describing many of the symptoms.

I heard that if you stop taking lipitor you can have a heart attack.

Thanks for the info Lulubelle. Those are my husband's symptoms. He's been on it for years, complains to the doctor(s) all the time about lack of energy, etc. Also has to take B12 shots for symptoms. FYI, Caduet is a new combination drug, Lipitor and Norvasc.

Reading this threat further, my husband is suffering from all the symptoms you all describe from using Lipitor. He's been complaining about extreme tiredness for a few years, leg tingling and weakness, etc. Sent to a neurologist, it was diagnosed as a B12 deficiency so severe that he had absolutely no B12 in his system, which I still question if this is possible or not. Supplements did not work and I give him monthly injections. He also has had some vertigo but I don't know if this is related or not. He has frequent blood draws for his anticoagulant level but I am not aware of any doctor ever checking his liver function, which has worried me for a while now. I've seen him as a basket case for awhile. I don't understand how he works. The lack of energy, and resultant inactivity can't be helping his weight or his heart!

I take Statins(Crestor) and I am a Pfizer stockholder. Statins are lifesavers. A small percentage of patients suffer adverse reactions, devastating to them, but; acceptable to the FDA. This is true for many drugs. There would be no progress, if the industry scrapped every therapeutic that hurt a few patients.... Hombre

I agree. It seems as if most criticisms of statin drugs come from companies or press touting "alternative" solutions. Still, if someone is put on a statin, or any drug, they should be aware of side affects and discontinue the drug if warranted. Conversely, s9omeone taking an alternative drug should still be periodically tested by a mainstream physician to make sure that more harm than good isn't being done.

One symptom I haven't seen mentioned here is moodiness. My husband was on Lipitor. He became so moody and angry I was nearly ready for a divorce. I had no reason to suspect the Lipitor until a friend of mine described the same extreme behavior changes in her husband who had also started Lipitor. She did some research and found some mention of aggitation and moodiness being a side effect. They both stopped the Lipitor and returned to their normal personality. My husband then tried Crestor and immediately experienced the same side effect, stopped the med and the moodiness went away. Beware.

Why is it that we have to blame others for ours wrongdoing?. Everyone knows that all synthetic medicines are bad to our body. All medicines, sooner or later causes our body to react in another way, altering our cells. There are diseases we can prevent and perhaps never be diagnosed with, but when we are young with don't think in any of them until you have been diagnosed, and even then we don't comply or follow our professional's recommendations. Most illnesses the majority of us have now a days can be prevented with just regular exercise, proper diet or just simple recommendations, but how many of us do it. As a health practitioner always think of pills as the last resource, not only because our books teach us that but because we know that pills alters our body and always recommed nonpharmacological therapies first. Unfortunately, for most patients it is easier to swallow a pill than changing their eating habit and to exercise. We all due respect, If You Are Healthier Enough To Follow Nonpharmacological Therapies, You Should Not Blame Others For What You Should Have Done Before Taking Years Of Lipitor. Doctors and Pharmaceutical companies are not God, we as human have to take responsibilities of our actions.
