I forgot to mention the diahrea, wow. I have been onthem regularly for about a year. Before that I have dealt with just over the counter and chiropractict but It just wasnt gettin it done. My injury was about 12 years ago, so I did quite well for as many years before giving in and getting meds.I saw my Dr yesterday and was truing to tell him that I want other alternatives but as usual he was running 2 hrs behind and as Im telling him this, he is writting me a new prec. for norco (i get 119 pills) and a NEW prec for Soma (he gave me 99 pills). It's a freekin wonder people are addicted to this stuff. It's like "here get out of here, this should help". Well I still havent taken the norco! Good for me. Its day six and I feel really good and dont want to blow it.

I will do a search on that and check it out. I have been doing pretty good. You can see in my new post that I am still clean on day six. I know my husband has noticed a difference even know he doesnt know my problem. I will keep you posted.

I was addicted to pain killers for 5 years, and in this time I tryed to quit many of times. Recently I decided to go to rehab. This was the best decision of my life because they tapper you off the meds and then give you tools to help deal with your real problem. If you are really serious about getting off pain killers I would suggest going to NA and doing a 12 step program. Many have done it this way successfully. It gives you hope and encouragment.

You will run out. Unless you have a million or so hanging around. More and more Doctors are being pressed - so beware.
I would also like to share with all that Oxy is not a recreation drug. If dying and on Oxy till death is what they are for. In my early twenties living in the far east I was using 4 grams of pure heron a a day (a bad New York habit is about a tenth of one gram) Anyway cold turkey on that was a walk in the park.(accept for my girl who went into an eight day coma) Here is my point OXY withdrawal is a nightmare. But it can be done and ohh the sheer joy of release. This is day 16 and still fucked but finally a little strength to get up and around a little. Still feels like a marathon going up stairs. but now i can taste and feel and the joy that returns, which Oxy takes away, is indescribable. So take heart those of you who wish to or have to quit. And bare in mind that i was an abuser probably more than most of you - three years -12- 80 ml per day (960ml daily). And I chewed those tasty little green nuggets into liquid before swallowing. In closing I am beseeching even begging any who have not tried OXY DO NOT. Be kind to your body. Still not convinced. Ironically, I run a wellness center. a couple of years ago I treated a man only 21 for Oxy complication. he will never walk normal again. he has to shuffle so slow it takes one minute to go two feet. And there is psychological damage as well. he is Psychotic and under a Psychiatrists care. And his parents are filthy rich and even that he cannot comprehend let alone enjoy. Is he the acception - I don't know. There IS a lot the pharmaceutical companies keep many nast secrets from us and the Government. Money rules. |

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me...I have endometreosis (a pretty bad case) whcih causes extreme pain. I have been on an alteration pf percs, and vic for the past year or so for sever pain. recentley i broke my hand and had to have pins in it, and the pain was so severe, i found myself taking more vics, because i built up a tolerence. I do not feel at this time that I have a mental addiction, as they vics do not get me "high" when i first started taking them they did give me energy, but they do nothing for the pain anymore. Although I believe it may lead to that. I know though when I stop taking them that I will most deff. go through withdraw. I have never taken anything stronger than a perc. I guess what I am trying to say is what is a safe way to tapper down so i do not go through withdraws. I am afraid to go to my doc. and say that i have a physical dependancy and want to stop taking them. Any suggesttions?

Do just what you said, taper down. Take less and less each week until you don't take anymore. If you want to completely stop, try suboxone. You will not get analgesic pain relief on suboxone but maybe this is what you need? |
