I am scared out of my wits.

A few weeks ago I had a ct scan done due to an abdominal mass I felt near my spleen.

When I got the results there was no mention of that mass being detected, however I do have 2 cysts on my right ovary about 2 inches by 1 inch for each of them.

I am currently constipated, gassy, tired, and finding more masses/lumps. I have the same one by my spleen, one around my liver area, one to the left of my navel, and a lump in my right breast. They are all painful but not consistantly. It's like they flair up and hurt sometimes, then at other times I hardly know they are there.

Both of my ovaries hurt, my lower back hurts, and I am feeling pressure. As of tonight I am also spotting a bit, but my period may be due. I am not sure as I just started birth control 1 month ago and haven't developed a real pattern yet.

My gyno assured me that I didn't have ovarian cancer, just based on the ct scan, my age, and no family history. She refuses to do a ca-125 test. I have an appt sept 15th with another gyno, I am hoping this one with investigate further.

I went 8 years without a menstrual cycle, was diagnosed with poly cystic ovarian syndrome, and have only had 1 pap in my life. My lack of cycles was due to an event that happened to me when I was around 12. Someone stuck an object inside of my vagina, and it remained there until I was 20 years old. I was too scared to get help or tell.

Surgery was done to remove the object, it gave me blood poisioning and my organs began to shut down. I had about a week to live had I not went in to have surgery they told me.

Now with these cysts, and these painful masses I am finding needless to say I am frightened. I should have stayed on top of things once that object was removed however I did not.

I am 24 years old, 5'11 tall, and 350lbs. I am wondering if my masses would have been hard to detect on the ct scan because of my weight. I figure though that they would have been able to see my lymph nodes, and if I had cancer there would have been an abnormality. There was also no mention of abdominal fluid or anything. The scan was abdominal, and pelvic.

So am I ok? A worry wort, or what? Someone please help. My biggest fear is that I do have ovarian cancer, that it has spread all over, and I am in the later stages. I would imagine that I would feel much worse however if that were the case, but I don't know.

Dear Sonya,
1) definaelty get another gynicologist or demand that your current one gets the CA-125 plus a good ultrasound. Pelvic masses and fibroads may be just that, but they also are definiate indicators of ovarian cancer.
2) I also hate to say it, but you are very obese from your statistics and need some serious help in that area. Your weight-gain may also be masking some of the other symptoms. kepp chipping away at all this and never take "no" for an answer....

Thanks DHG for the reply. The other doctor refused a CA-125 too.

I am at my wits end, and things are getting worse.

I've recently dropped 30 lbs without trying. I'm constipated, I have a painfull mass in my mid left quadrant, my liver hurts, and just yesterday I was sent for a chest x-ray because of right lung pain (had it for the past 5 months or so).

I am 30 years old and am a little worried...I was intimate with my husband and yelled out in pain a couple of weeks ago on my right side...My BM have changed--I get diarrhea and the next day I'll be constipated...I don't understand...I am noticing more and more that I am bloated often (my clothes sometimes are uncomfortable to wear) I've even had other people ask me if I was pregnant (I am the mother of a 5 and 4 year old) I am also very tired all the time...About 6 months ago I had a ruptured ovarian cyst..I had a transvaginal ultrasound done and they noticed that I had several other ovarian cysts on the left side, I went to my OB/GYN and he was like, I don't understand why you are getting these cysts you have been on birth control...Should I get a second opinion or should I ask him if he will do the CA-125????

Hi, I am a 27 year old female with a previous history of lymph swelling and hypothyroidism. I was completly healthy, until a year ago when I started having signifigant swelling in my lymph nodes, since then I have been diagnosed with Hoshimoto's and have had 3 surgerys, including bone marrow biopsy, to rule out lymphoma.
Fast forward to now. I have had a change in bowel habits daily and have signifigant pain on the left ovary. I have all the symptoms of ovarian cancer. Including swelling in the abdomen and pressure, like someone is pushing on my bladder. I have signifigant fatigue which we thought would subside with the thyroid problem but it has not. I work in the medical field and have fealt since the beginning of this that I have cancer somewhere. It sounds peculiar but I just feeel that way. Every doctor I have been to always suggest cancer but can't seem to find the right one.
Anyone have the same problem? Can anyone HELP!!!
I need it.
Thank You
