These are the things that make him the person and mayor he is. John North Adams will fold with out you and your hard work and compassion for the people.

He admits that he's angered people at the rate of 3 per week. That's over 5,000 people.

He doesn't work hard anymore. He sits and gloats. So, that's a lie.

He is not compassionate. That is an outright lie.

If this election is based in fear instead of a hoped for better future, regardless of who wins, Barrett or Alcombright, we're in worse trouble than we are now.

Let the candidates lay out their platforms and plans. Hopes and expectations. Hopefully, we make up our own minds and choose wisely.

Nonsense. North Adams is MUCH MORE than one man.

We have come so far in 26 years I do not wish to see it go the other way.

I wonder if he was on the golf course when he made this call? Taking time out of his golf game to call, would improve his I care ratings.

I'm sorry for this woman's troubles, but what, exactly, does this have to do with Barrett's qualifications for Mayor? Would he not make personal phone calls or send get well cards if he were not mayor? While truly these are kind gestures, I don't see how these are necessary responsibilities of the office. How would or could a mayor of a town of 14,000 people give the same level of attentiveness to everyone who falls ill?

Her point is that Barrett is not the evil man the Alcombright lovers would have you believe. His record speaks for itself. Barrett has provided this city with the leadership and directions it needs and will continue to do so.

Okay. You can't blame Barrett for the cinema closing, but you can blame him for his stupid Imperial style of leadership.

If, in his own words, he knew a week ago the cinema would close, why didn't we as residents deserve a heads-up? Why did it have to be a surprise? IF Barrett wins again, he needs to be forthcoming with information. It makes one wonder just how many projects are dead or businesses are closing that he knows about, but won't reveal because of his Imperial attitude or because this is an election cycle?

Win or lose, there's got to be change in the way things like this are handled.

One of the qualifications for ANY political position, is understanding the emotions of your constituents. Understanding the needs of this woman, shows this qualification. If your not mayor, then the need to make these calls or whatever, is not needed.Of course the mayor can't do this for 14,000 people, but doing it for just one person, will get the attention of many, as seen by these posts.
