A good host or hostess shouldn't do anything that may embarrass guests, or make them feel uncomfortable in any way. All that said, as long as he or she puts the dishes through a hot cycle of a dishwasher, there is probably no real harm in it.

Eat dog chow for 24/7 and see how long it takes you to look for a plate to luick off, just for the flavor and the change.

ROFLMAO - I only have people at my house who don't mind my hounds countersurfing and trying to steal their food. I don't put my plates on the floor, however, if you get up leave them anywhere near the edge of the counter or plate, they are gonna get licked by one of the dogs. lol

I allow my dog to lick plates which are put on the floor for her. However, I would not allow it when guests are in my home. And, I use a dishwasher.

My cats eat right off my plate. Who cares? But I wouldn't want them to do it with guests. Best not to lets animals do those kinds of things when there's others around. Then nobody can complain. Would people complain if a babies are washed in kitchen sink. I know people who do this also. And you can beleive no guest would dare say a word to their host on that issue.

I along with others will no longer be attending parties at a particular persons home. The dog is totally out of control. You can not sit at the table or anywhere else and enjoy your meal for the dog begging and drooling all over you. The dog needs to be fed and put up before guest arrive. I have tried to get the point across and it is useless... guess he needs to find new friends.

Dogs washing dishes saves energy and water. However they don't do a very good job watering indoor plants.

I'd prefer THAT over a misbehaved bratty HUMAN child any day.

you could always invite him to your place instead - why not try it? minus the dog. is a drooling dog really a reason worthy enough to lose a friendship over?

he obviously loves his pet and that must be a sign of one of the things you like about him in the first place - he cares about other living things, even if in a "socially unacceptable" way to some lol.

My dog ate out of my dinner plate that I put on the floor. I hand wash the dish after in the kitchen sink. Can I catch any thing from my dinner plate that the dog ate out of?

I used to do the same with my two dogs and all I ever did was wash it in hot water with Polmolive antibacterial dish soap and rinse. Well, I'm still here. But make sure the dog is up to date on his rabies vaccine. Not just for you but for him.

My dogs eat out of my dishes all the time. It's not that big of deal. I also ran around barefoot, never put ointment or band-aids on open cuts, ate things off the floor and probably even ate an occasional booger as a kid and I'm still kicking...so far.
My dogs are my babies and if people don't like the way they run around the house, eat off the dishes, lay around on the furniture and sleep in the bed, they can stay at home.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Cancer

Take things gently otherwise you'll end up running round in ever-decreasing circles. Yes, you may still have a lot to do but you won't achieve very much if you develop butterfingers or waste all your energy on a full-blown panic. Maybe you could rope someone into helping you, rather than doing your Cinderella act in the kitchen while everyone else takes it easy?
