I am glad that countries who need this aid are not going to be penalized because of some fundamentalist radicals that have slipped their "good ole fashioned" religion into this moral and humanitarian issue.

Study after study, whether in regard to child birth or any STD, prove that abstinence only programs don't work. In heaven they may work, because I don't think anyone will be getting any (please don't let me go there...please!), but in the todays modern and very "real" world, people need money spent on programs that offer real solutions. Don't penalize people, akin to letting them die, because they don't buy into an abstinence only policy...America has some nerve pushing abstinence only, when our politicians and celebrities are constantly pushing the "sexual" envelope!

And I have a sinking feeling that flyingcow supports the trillion or so being spent in Iraq...makes you wonder about what's in the kool-aid the religious and high morality folk been drinking?

Well Duane, what do you think your idol, the Not-So-Rev. Wright, will say about this?

This amount of spending on aids is the same as every man, woman and child in the US giving away 166 dollars of their own money to save these wretched people. Wonderful.
