Why is it that employers don't understand lupus, even though you submit a doctor's note explaining how a patient feels?

i have lupus and had to go on family medical leave act in order to see my doctors, do that , that way they cant punish you for being sick!!! have your doctors fill out a fmla form and send it to your employer, actuallt its intermittant fmla. any questions?its againist the law to go againist a person with fmla!!!and yes lupus is a chronic condition! |

The reason they don't understand it is because Lupus is not something people can see. That is one of the worst parts of Lupus. I walk around tired, cranky, sometimes in pain, and they just assume I was up late the night before and being lazy! I know exactly how you feel - it is horrible to have to deal with that on top of everything else! It is also due to the lack of awareness of Lupus, but it isn't like Lupus is that new....just keep your head up - your health is the most important thing!
