Beauty queen fights lupus (20090108)

A local woman is trying to raise the community's awareness of lupus, and she has been using her position as a reigning beauty pageant queen to do it.

...It seems as though the doctors don"t like to discuss lupus with you.If you have it ....you have it.I had a very good doctor in CA.But in OK I have not found one who knows any thing about lupus. I have not joined a support group yet......Thank you

I wish you both the best of health with this. My mom was diagnosed once with it. They always kept switching her diseases. And no doctors dont talk much about it.

As someone who has lupus, I can only say keep up with latest science and medical news. Its hard to get diagnosed but knowledge is power. Joining a support group many years ago saved my life in more ways than I can describe here in a blog. Good luck!
