Things learned after a diagnosis of lung cancer

My mom died of the disease. What I hated were the comments upon hearing that she had lung cancer: "Oh, did she smoke?" as if she deserved it. One very overweight person made the comment/question in a snide way, and I thought, some day, when you die of a heart attack, should I say to her daughter, "Well, did she eat a lot?" We all have our vices...I wish that people weren't so judgmental.

Sara sorry about your mom.Hope she went fast.My mother-in-law suffered for over 2 years with cancer.She was not a smoker,did not drink more of a health nut.

I like the way they tried to link it to smoking.It already been proved that it is pretty equal between non-smokers and smokers.If smoking caused a death it would be on the death certificate. So far none.Maybe the cause is the bad air,after all cars are putting out millions of the same chemicals as one cigarette every .8 of a mile.The 4000 chemicals found in tobacco is also found in most foods,but they do not tell you that.It is about control and money NOT health.
