I am a 63 year old male and had IBS symptoms also. I have stopped using any products using carrageenan (primarily fat free Half & Half) and the symptoms disappeared the next day. It was like a miracle!

I believe carrageenan may have been the source of your IBS symptoms, but by no means does it make it the source of anyone else's. I have read that carrageenan can upset people's intestines, but it doesn't bother some. For instance, I have IBS and can ingest carrageenan just fine.
