Isabella wrote: <quoted text> You can't dismiss Sodom and Gomorrah. That was God's anger against all the sexual sins. God warned man, if they continued in the fleshly sexual sins, he would bring about His judgment (I would think diseases pretty much covers that). Sexual sins are running rampant right now. The Bible warned us this would happen in the last days. God's message is very clear about sexual perversion in Romans 1:18-32 27-And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved. There were sexual diseases in Jesus's days and none more true than today. Twenty years ago there were two sexually transmitted diseases. Now there are twenty-nine. Every nine months they find a new one. Twelve million people contract a sexual disease every year in the US alone; 33,000 a day. Some, like AIDS, will kill you in just a couple of years. Some will just make you wish you were dead. Some will hurt your children. "If you were the Devil" said one AIDS researcher "You couldn't conceive of a disease more disruptive and disturbing than one sexually transmitted that kills within a short period and for which there is no treatment." There is only one way to be sure you don't get a crippler or killer disease through sex but no one wants to say it: abstinence (what a dirty word), to be a virgin when you get married (man and woman biblically speaking) That's God's plan. If you take a long look at the ugly alternatives, it looks like He knows what He's talking about. OMG! You actually DID say that! Honey, I'm fifty, and twenty years ago, when I was thirty, there were CERTAINLY more than two sexually transmitted diseases. There were more in in 1940, when my father was in WWII! There were more than two in Elizabethan England! Are you clinically delusional?

But the message about sexual sins is explanatory in Romans 1:18-32. It is ingenuious when people say, Jesus never said it. When He did thru the disciples and reaffirms this by His own wrods. John 17:6-8 (New Living Translation) Jesus praying to God about the disciples: 6 “I have revealed you to the ones you gave me from this world. They were always yours. You gave them to me, and they have kept your word. 7 Now they know that everything I have is a gift from you, 8 for I have passed on to them the message you gave me. They accepted it and know that I came from you, and they believe you sent me. John 17:13-26 (New Living Translation) 13 “Now I am coming to you. I told them many things while I was with them in this world so they would be filled with my joy. 14 I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. 15 I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. 16 They do not belong to this world any more than I do. 17 Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. 18 Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. 19 And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth. You do know, don't you, that it rather pointless to quote New Testament to a Jew?

All that proves is that Jesus spoke the truth to his disciples in everything he said. The opinions of Paul and Peter were simply that, in my own opinion and about as much the product of the message of Jesus as was Paul's telling women not to wear gold, not to braid or cut their hair and never to teach a man or speak out in church. I don't think those were Jesus speaking either. You have a way of eluding sound argument with conjecture. When you said no gay gene had been found which proved there was no such thing, I pointed out to you that science hadn't discovered a lot of things until they finally did, and that prior to that time the beliefs were totally different in many things. You answered that by saying science was to a state where there could never be a doubt. Very convenient. But it's science that is constantly being denied by Christians until they need something to back their credibility,(and I'm a Christian too by the way, so I'm hardly being unfair in this analysis). You may not like gays but that doesn't mean they are automatically an abomination or that they are the product of an abusive childhood, or that they are giving in to sin, just because it makes it convenient for you to maintain your prejudices against them.

You made the comment I was referring to regarding Mary Mothe of Jesus and a drunken encounter which was all I was saying. You referred to the Nazerines after saying I should study the life of Jesus. I only said I doubted they ever made any elusions to Mary's pregnancy or how it came about. I also never said you confused Mary Magdeline with Mary the mother of Jesus, which you seemed to suppose I had when answering my post in a previous comment. However, when I was talking about Mary Magdeline, in response to a mistake made by another poster you jumped in with your comments, about Mary the mother of Jesus, which had nothing to do with Mary Magdeline. You seem to have a hard time with understanding remarks made to you.
